Understanding Your Higher Self

We all have many versions of ourselves. The variety is almost endless. There is the version we show to the world and the version we hide. There are versions of us in various lifetimes as well as versions of ourselves in various timelines. The possibilities are mind-boggling. There is one version, however, that is all-encompassing. It consists of us in every lifetime, in every state of development and in every timeline. I like to call this version the "higher self" because it literally contains every variable of self, and can draw on all the information and knowledge contained therein.

The first thing to understand about the higher self is that it is actually a part of you, right here, right now! It experiences everything with you as you experience it. At no time is your higher self separate from you, although you might not sense its presence as you experience this timeline.

Your higher self is not limited to time. Your higher self encompasses you in every lifetime and every timeline. Consequently, your higher self can focus on a particular moment in a particular lifetime and find itself there in the moment. It experiences everything you experience, have ever experienced or will ever experience in this moment of now.

Your higher self is not limited to this dimension. Because it is the version of you that has experienced every dimension, your higher self can jump from dimension to dimension or choose to experience all dimensions simultaneously. This is how beings like Jesus or Mohammed or the Buddha can appear to different people at various points in their lives. It is the higher self version of these people that is able to jump dimensions and even timelines to visit with you and impart their wisdom.

Your higher self is not limited to any particular space. It can be so small it would be considered nonexistent by a physicist, but so large it literally encompasses everything. When we meditate and learn to connect to the Oneness within, we can catch a glimpse of this unlimited reality while still in this limited form.

Why is it important to understand the higher self? Because the higher self is our unlimited self, we can use this version to connect with great wisdom and understanding. When we connect to our higher self we can use it to heal those wounds we have experienced in life. We can consult our higher self to gain insight and wisdom into the situations we are going through and hopefully lead us to better ways of doing things. Most importantly, we can connect to our higher self and in that way connect to the Oneness in stronger and more power ways.

By understanding your higher self, you can much more quickly and easily move past the obstacles in life we face every day. Allow yourself to explore the many facets that make up the whole of your higher self. You will learn things about yourself and the world that will help you progress through life in relative ease and with joy!

The Power Of The Mirror

Years ago, I overheard a couple of coworkers discussing another coworker. They were talking about the fact that she was unmarried and pregnant. The gist of the conversation was how awful a thing it was, seeing how the girl was relatively young and immature. People will gossip. What struck me about the conversation is how hypocritical these two particular people were being. Both of them had been in the very same situation with their first pregnancies.

All of us experience our hypocritical moments. Very often, they occur when we are triggered by circumstances that are unresolved issues within ourselves. When we see the same situation occurring elsewhere, we push our own inadequacies aside by focusing on the inadequacies of others.

The emotional trigger that comes up when someone else makes the same mistake we've made but left unresolved is known as a mirror. The thought is that what we see in the world around us is merely a reflection of ourselves. Being hypocritical involves ignoring the truth of what you see in your mirror.

The process of awareness involves the willingness to look past all those things that make us uncomfortable and see what actually exists, the good, the bad and the ugly. Accepting our own darkness always comes at a price, but in the long run this price leads to awareness.

When we are finally able to look squarely in the mirror at both the light and dark aspects of ourselves and fully accept responsibility for everything, the world as we know it will transform for the better. That is the power of the mirror.

Of Family And Expectations

When I was still young and impressionable, I used to dream about the one perfect relationship that was meant for just me. My own parents had a good, solid marriage, and I just assumed that I would also be able to find the love of my life and raise a family together with this soulmate. That just didn't happen. I ended up divorced and alone with three very small children after a little over ten years of marriage.

I struggled with that for a very long time. It was difficult accepting I had failed--both for myself and my children. I hated knowing that I might not ever give my kids the home I had dreamed about with the white picket fence and two parents that loved them unconditionally. What tore me up even more is that my ex had already moved on. He could give my children something I considered more normal when they were with him and his new wife.

What I came to realize was that, even though I could not give my children what society considered "normal", I could still give them a good life. I managed to find myself a job that not only payed the bills, but allowed me to spend large quantities of time with my children. My kids had very full lives of school, church and activities, but we also spent time watching movies and enjoying each others' company. I could support them in the things they wanted to do but also help them hone in on their individual talents so their confidence and self esteem grew. Most of all, I loved them as much as another person could possibly love them. These things did not require two parents.

I also learned a great deal about myself along the way. I had become very dependent on my ex-husband, so much so that my identity had transformed into being his wife and the mother of his children. It's taken me years to appreciate that was not a healthy state to be in. The struggle of being a single mom helped me learn that I am important and that I am more than what I provide for others. I have my own talents. I have my own goals. I have my own contributions to make to the world besides being a mom.

There really is no such thing as "normal" (except perhaps as a washer setting). What is appropriate for one life may be totally inappropriate for another. What is important to understand is that life is about learning and growth and that we each have our own personalized lesson plan.

Families come in many forms. Sometimes families are biological. Sometimes families find each other. Sometimes they consist of two parents and children. Sometimes it might be one parent (or parent figure). What is important is that we not compare ourselves with others because what they need to learn may not be anything like what you need to learn.

When it comes to family, drop your expectations and enjoy what you have. The journey will be much more amazing when you accept what comes and allow yourself to find happiness on that particular path.

Healing Vision

I have known that Bashar al-Assad, the President of Syria, was a fully trained medical doctor for a while now. What I didn't realize was that he was trained in ophthalmology. Assad is a vision specialist.

My mind immediately wandered back to one of the former presidents of the church I grew up in, the Community of Christ. His name is Wallace B. Smith. He was called by his father W. Wallace Smith to take over the presidency of the church, and accepting the call was a difficult decision for him. At the time of his calling, the younger Smith was a practicing ophthalmologist. He was an extremely respected vision doctor with a thriving practice who had no desire to lead a church. He did, however, eventually agree to lead the Community of Christ.

There were two big things Wallace B. Smith accomplished as church president. The first was seeing to the building of a temple in Independence, Missouri--long prophesied by the first president and founder of the church, Joseph Smith, Jr. The second thing Wallace did was to allow women to be a part of the priesthood. The irony here is, the building of the temple brought the church together in a fundamental way. Bringing women into the priesthood tore it apart.

The vision Wallace B. Smith had for the Community of Christ Church allowed for monumental change. While not everyone agreed these changes were for the best, I personally appreciate the fact his vision allowed him to see that women have a lot to offer to the world, especially in terms of spiritual wisdom and understanding. He understood back in the 80's the need for women to play a more active role in church leadership.

Assad was also happy with his life as a vision doctor. He was not even supposed to play the role of president originally. He had an older brother that was supposed to take over from their father, but the brother was killed in a car accident. Because of family responsibility, Bashar assumed the reigns and became the president designate. As the eyes of the world are upon him, he continues to stand in his truth with strength and integrity, even as his enemies continue to brainwash the masses against him.

It occurs to me the two men, Bashar al-Assad and Wallace B. Smith, have a great deal in common. They are both men of vision that agreed to assume leadership roles against their personal desires. In their own ways, they are here to shift the planet consciousness. Their actions require great personal strength and courage.

Great strength and courage are always required when one is charged with healing vision. May our vision continue to be healed so we can make the changes necessary to usher in a new era of peace and prosperity to our beautiful planet.

Family, Laughter and Thanksgiving

One of my best (and funniest) Thanksgiving memories happened after my parents moved to the South. Because we now lived at least a twelve hour drive away from extended family, it was difficult to visit them for just a few days over Thanksgiving break. We stayed home more, but we also included "adopted" family in our celebrations. This particular year we had invited good friends from church over to help us celebrate.

The Thanksgiving feast was proceeding as usual. The turkey was roasted to perfection, moist and juicy and flavorful. The table was filled with the usual mashed potatoes, stuffing, gravy, corn, green beans, sweet potato casserole, etc. One of my favorites was always a cranberry gelatin salad my mom made with fresh cranberries and oranges. Its tangy, sweet flavor was always a good alternative to all the more savory dishes on the table.

The cranberry salad was on the table closest to me, so I was the first one to dig into it. As I scooped in to the gelatin, I felt something hard I knew was not supposed to be there. I'm thinking, "What in the world is this?" as I continued to dig in the serving dish. By that time, everyone at the table was watching what I was doing. My mom got a funny expression on her face as it began to dawn on her what had happened and I pulled a serving spoon out of the gelatin! Apparently, the spoon she had used to stir and dissolve the gelatin had fallen in to the serving dish and in her haste she forgot to pull it out before it was set! Needless to say, we all had a good laugh over it (including my mom). To this day, we always ask if she remembered to include the spoon for that little extra bit of flavor!

Family celebrations do not always go as planned. Sometimes we get so caught up in our beliefs about how perfectly such events should go we get disappointed when they don't play out according to plan. Often we let the little arguments and problems that occur daily to overshadow what happens, bringing tension and confusion to what is supposed to be a joyful time.

There are times we don't even get along well enough with our biological families to want them around for the holidays. That's okay. Sometimes family are those people we are fortunate enough to meet and "adopt". Family is anyone who we love and loves us back!

Don't be too hard on yourself or the occasion. Allow for things to go wrong and not be perfect. Be willing to laugh at yourself or the ridiculousness of the situation and move on. After all, life is not about perfection. It's about learning and growing. It's about allowing yourself and others to mess up and make mistakes and still understand it is all okay.

The love of our (soul) family and a little bit of laughter goes a long way toward making holidays and celebrations memorable. Now pass the cranberry salad!!!

Opening Awareness

I had an interesting experience yesterday. It was Tuesday, and I had to go to my part time retail job. While I enjoy my coworkers and the fact that it gets me out of the house and out in the public, I was not looking forward to it. Still, as I drove to work I had this overwhelming sense it was a weekend sort of day--lazy, nothing to do, etc. As I continued to make my way in to the job it finally dawned on me. I wasn't feeling like it was a weekend day because of anything I personally felt. I was feeling the mood of all the people in the homes and cars and businesses around me! Where I live here in Georgia, pretty much all the kids are home from school all week long because of the Thanksgiving holiday.

As I go down this road of opening my own awareness and attempting to help others unlock theirs as well, it is interesting to see when progress has been made. I'm sure there have been many times in the past the feelings/energies of those around me were obvious, but I was oblivious. Many occasions I did not even question whether or not what I was feeling came from me or someone or something else.

The journey the planet is currently undergoing is the process of opening awareness. We have all spent many years in darkness--many years feeling separate and disconnected. As stated before, these beliefs about our separateness have been programmed into us intentionally by those who would usurp our power for themselves. Awareness is the process of learning how to listen to the knowledge that comes from tapping into the Source of love within our own hearts.

Allow yourself to celebrate the awarenesses as they come. These are the little signs that you are beginning to remember who you truly are! The more we begin to recognize the connections we have to ourselves, each other and the world, the more our whole world begins to change for the better.

We are making progress, slow though it may seem. Every step we take toward thinking through our hearts helps to open our awareness. Allow yourself to celebrate the journey!

Where Does Creativity Come From?

Often, we look around at the successful people in the world and wonder where they came up with the ideas that have brought them abundance. The entrepreneur, the artist, the healer, etc. all seem to blessed with the inner know-how that brings accomplishment into their lives. What is the difference between those who are successful and those who are not? One word: heart!

What most people see as creativity is actually the unseen connection prosperous people have to their hearts! Knowingly or unknowingly, these people are tuned in to what makes them happy and how they can use their gifts and talents to make them even more happy. They spend a great deal of time in their hearts exploring various ways they can use their gifts and talents to enrich themselves and the world. This is creativity at it's best!!! When you are in your heart, the ideas you can connect to are virtually limitless.

Now that you know this, how can you get into your heart in order to tap into this creativity? Here's a list of things you can do to help get started.

How To Increase Creativity

  1. Meditate daily! Take time every day to get into your heart and allow yourself to explore who you are and where your particular gifts, talents and callings reside. As you become increasingly familiar with yourself, ideas should begin to flow.
  2. Look at the world through the eyes of a child! Children are curious and like to explore what they don't understand. As an added bonus, everything is interesting and exciting no matter how many times it happens. As adults, we can become so jaded by those everyday experiences we tune them out and miss information in the process. Allow yourself to see what is possible in everyday situations. You might just see something new that can be worked with!
  3. Get out of your rut! Creativity requires doing things in new ways! Change up the way you drive to work. Take up a new hobby you think you might enjoy. Explore a new recipe. Learn to change the oil in your car. Any activity that allows you to see life from a new angle can assist you in getting those creative juices flowing!
  4. Be willing to take risks! Part of creativity is doing something in new or unusual ways. Yes, there is always the possibility of failure, but failing and making mistakes are not bad things. They're learning things. Keep going! It took Thomas Edison over 1000 tries before he created a successful light bulb! Ask yourself what the world would be like if he had stopped at 999?
  5. Ask for divine help! There are times in life when we all feel a bit stuck. Ask your angels to guide you to the right place or send someone into your life that will make it clear what direction you need to focus on. They will usually give you sign after sign after sign (coincidences you might call them) until you figure out that this is the clue you have been waiting for.
Creativity is not limited to the lucky and intelligent few. We all have the ability to create positive change in our lives. Allow yourself to connect within to unleash the creative power in you!

A Message From Higher Self

An interesting thing happened in my quiet time recently. I had a conversation with what I like to call my "higher self". Understand the conversation was not in actual words. The higher self communicates through thought, feelings, and frequency. Still, because I am able to read these things, I can put them into words. Know this is not some special and unique talent I possess. We can all do it to various degrees, and someday I believe this is the way we will all communicate.

As I sat in meditation, I became aware of a new presence, and it was me! This is the form of self that is timeless to the point of feeling ancient, wise to the point there is no knowledge or information unknown. This higher self feels infinite and expansive and not limited to the body it is centered in. It is mind-boggling to know I am here in this 3-dimensional existence at the same time I am communicating with a variation of self! I find myself identifying more with the "feminine" side of my higher self even though I sense the higher self has equally developed feminine and masculine. I attribute this to the need for my 3D self to bring a message of divine feminine strength to the world at this time.

As I explore the energy of my higher self, I am amazed this being is me! It is seemingly perfect and Christ-like, although I also understand this perfection has been attained through struggle and sacrifice, part of which I am living in this moment. The pain is there but perfectly balanced with all the learning, growth and happiness of every lifetime the higher self has experienced. My higher self is not angry or sad or depressed. While I can feel all those things in there, the balance of everything is such that the overall feeling is joy! As I sit in awe at the perfection that is my higher self, I sense gentle counsel coming to my present, flawed self.

Although you feel blemished and imperfect, you are not. You sit there in one aspect of me, but we are One. At any time you choose, we are One again! Every experience that I experienced is also yours to draw on. Every understanding I have gained is yours as well! The perfection you sense in me is present in you. You just have a difficult time seeing it because of your present limitations of time and space.
The truth is, all of us are divine. All of us are Christ-like perfection. The separation you feel from yourself and others has nothing to do with who you are and everything to do with where you are. You are experiencing the ultimate separation in your present incarnation. Understand you have chosen to experience this sort of reality for the learning and growth it presents to you. It is fleeting and temporary. Any pain  you feel now blends into the fullness you are to create ultimate joy.
As you continue on in this lifetime, understand your perfection. All those things you believed were problems and even flaws have occurred to further your growth. Mistakes are merely opportunities for expanded understanding. The more quickly you recognize your problems and work through them, the more quickly you move through your lessons. At some point you will have grown so much you will begin to recognize me in yourself.
As you learn to step out of judgment within your present state of separation, you will much more easily see the perfection that exists in everything you now judge to be good or bad. You will begin to be thankful for all things, which results in peace and abundance. This is the ultimate goal of mankind. This is your future.
As I sit in the energy that is my higher self, I allow myself to experience this fullness. There is no flaw. There is no imperfection. There is awareness. There is understanding. There is no judgment. I feel peace knowing that the pain I have experienced in this lifetime and in many others is worth it.

Hidden In Plain Sight

Over two and a half years ago, Matt Taibbi wrote a story for Rolling Stone Magazine entitled "Everything Is Rigged: The Biggest Price-Fixing Scandal Ever." It was the culmination of several stories that involve current banking practices that literally steal the public blind. Even with this information out in the public domain, the only consequences for bankers have been piddly little fines and a few handslaps. Life in November 2015 is still business as usual for those who consider themselves "elite".

I have a difficult time understanding how this treachery can be exposed to the mainstream and everyone pretty much turns a blind eye to it! How can people be so out-of-touch with reality that they continue to allow themselves to be taken advantage of? Shouldn't be all be calling for their resignations? Shouldn't we all be publicly aware of these trials and shouldn't the perpetrators of these crimes (everyone from the henchmen to the top dogs) all be locked up where they can no longer hurt any of us again?

Our world has been torn apart to the point we are all convinced we are separate entities who have no power. I believe this is by design. People who have been cut off from the Source of their power and strength are much less likely to be a threat to those who understand how power works and seek to wield it.

The atrocities of our world can now be hidden in plain sight because we no longer acknowledge our own power! Coupled with the fact that we are lulled into complacency through an abundance of mind-numbing entertainments, we are conditioned to miss everything of value and importance.

It is time to stop looking outside ourselves and begin to look inside at the divine wisdom within! It is inside our own hearts we will find all the information and awareness we need to know to shine our light in the darkness. When we consult our hearts, the good, the bad and the ugly can no longer hide. All is available. What they now hide in plain sight will be visible to everyone.

The world will forever change when we are no longer blind to what is and can act with power and integrity.

I Do NOT Consent!

Lately, I keep hearing the words "I do NOT consent" pounding through my mind and heart. As I watch events unfold on the world stage, my heart tells me there is more evil being plotted by the powers that be in order to further their agenda of total world domination. The thing is, I don't feel like allowing them to play their evil games!

One of the universal laws they must follow in order to legally carry out their plans is the law of consent. They must gain the consent of those involved in order to be allowed to follow through with their plans. Part of the problem is they don't have to come right out and tell us they're going to bomb a building or kill innocent people. They can present the information in such a way that it is there in the mass consciousness but hidden, such as in a tv program or movie. In this way they can gain our implied consent because they have disclosed the information to us, regardless of whether or not we understand what has been presented.

When your heart is troubled because it senses upcoming plots and plans to bring evil and destruction into the world, understand you have the power to change outcomes! All you have to do is state the words, "I do NOT consent," in a very intentional way. Removing your consent from whatever is causing your feeling of impending doom binds and hinders the actions others take to carry this evil out.

Listen to your heart when it warns you, and do not be afraid to utter the words, "I do NOT consent." At worst, you'll feel a little silly. At best, you may just keep evil at bay.

What Is Confusion Telling You?

Confusion is something we all experience from time to time. We seem to get pulled in several different directions all at the same time and have problems understanding which direction we need to go in. I'm going to let you in on a little secret: confusion results from the heart knowing truth that your mind refuses to accept.

Let me say that in a slightly different way. Confusion happens because your perception is not aligning with truth (or what IS). The information (truth) is always available. We often just don't want to look at it. Sometimes it is due to heavy programming that is difficult to see beyond. On other occasions, we don't want to look at truth because we don't want to believe such things could be true. For example, I ignored the events of 9/11 for years because I did not want to face the fact there was that much evil in the world. I could handle the thought that a few delusional religious terrorists could commit such an act. It is a whole different matter to understand the atrocity was planned and set into motion by the very people we look to for protection.

How can we limit confusion in our lives? We limit confusion by connecting to and looking at the truth in our hearts! When you feel confusion, understand your body is letting you know there is more information to uncover. (Emotions are your body's way of getting your attention to let you know information wants to make itself known to you. When you feel one, pay attention!) The following is a list of ideas you can use to help filter the muck confusion brings.

Interpreting Confusion
  1. Recognize you feel confusion. Allow confusion to be a trigger for you so you remember to look at the information being presented to you.
  2. Ask questions. Begin with things like, "What information is trying to make itself known to me?" and "What is not true about this situation?".
  3. Connect to your heart for answers. Go to a quiet place and meditate. As you sit in silence, allow the noise and clutter of your thoughts to die down enough to feel/hear the quiet. It is in the quiet that answers come.
  4. Look at what confuses you from a new/different perspective. Ask yourself how your opponent might see this issue. Ask how a favorite religious figure (Jesus, Mohammed, God, Buddha, etc.) would look at this situation. Ask how a child might view this situation. Visualize the issue of confusion in the center of a circle, then move around the circle and continue to look at the situation.
Confusion offers us the opportunity to come to new insights and understandings about how the world is. Make use of this valuable gift from Source to open your awareness and create new space for growth!

Who Are You In This Moment Of Now?

Tensions are high around the world as I write this. People are reeling from the trauma of events in Paris as well as in other parts of the world. The media would have you believe that all the world is evil and we can't avoid it. My question today is, who are you in this moment of now?

Take a few moments to sit in a quiet place where you can relax with your eyes closed. Inhale and exhale slowly, deep, cleansing breaths. Feel the tension and stress leave your body on your exhales while you focus on bringing light and peace into your body when you inhale. Shift your awareness to this breathing until you can feel your spirit resting comfortably in your body and not somewhere outside yourself (in imagination or otherwise).

When you are aware of your spirit resting inside your body, ask yourself a few simple questions. What is in my heart? Do I feel fear or love? If fear, is this because of circumstances within yourself or outside yourself? Allow yourself to let go of what is outside yourself as you focus on being present in your body in the now. Do you feel love? If not, allow yourself to connect to the love in your heart, which is always present. Understand that love is not only a part of you but a part of your connection to Oneness as well. Love is the force that binds us all together!!! Allow yourself to sit in this love until you begin to feel a sense of joy and peace. These are the frequencies you need to focus on and try to carry with you at all times.

In each moment of now, we can choose who we want to be! When we focus on love, we are choosing to carry that frequency. We are choosing to bring love into our physical world. Those around us respond in positive ways to that frequency.

Who are you in this moment of now? By focusing on the question we have the power to intentionally change the world!!!

A Message To All Lightworkers

Regardless of the chaos in Paris over the past few days, I am feeling something new. Something better! It's as though a tremendous burden has finally been lifted off of humanity. There's definitely been a shift, and I believe it is a shift in consciousness!

I first began to notice it in my conversations with others. Incredibly, so many troubles my friends have been going through are all resolving themselves at present--months of troubles for many of them. The best way to describe it is that whatever was keeping them from purpose and abundance has finally given way and is no longer a block.

The dark magic is no longer working. The ritual that was the sacrifice of Paris has had the opposite effect of what they intended. It woke up enough people that we have entered the tipping point!!!

Let me give this word of caution: we are not totally out of the woods yet, nor will everything get better quickly. There is still a tremendous amount of work to do and I am anticipating it will take years to complete. It has taken centuries to program people to this extreme. Overcoming that is not the work of a few days. Also, the cabal has not lost all their power. They are weakened, but still dangerous.

For those of you lightworkers who know you have a job to do, now is the time to begin it! Even if you don't know exactly what that is yet, it is time to start taking the first steps. Consciously connect to your heart for further instruction! Humanity awaits you!!!

The world needs healing in all forms. Gaia, water, air, plant and mineral life, animals, and humans all need help. Whether your calling is farming, healthcare, energy work, art, music, etc. all are needed to restore the planet to her rightful place. The sooner we get started on a global level, the sooner we will usher in a new Golden Age. It will take all of us to accomplish this.

Do not get distracted trying to change others. That is their job. Your job is to be a light and perform the tasks you have agreed to in order to heal the planet. Above all, focus on creating a frequency of love and peace. This will continue to counteract all the negativity that has been forced on us throughout the years.

Take heart in knowing the tide has turned! Time to get busy creating our new world!!!

The Willingness To Allow

I always find it intriguing when I set off other people's trigger points. I don't do things with the goal of setting people off, although I do admit there are many occasions where I give out information for people to consider. I have no problem when they think about the issue and still come to the same conclusion. I believe that is part of their journey and part of their BEing. We all have different things we want to explore and learn about in this 3D existence.

This time I posed a question on Facebook. My post reads as follows:
I am curious. For those of you who have changed your profile pictures to French flag colors, how do you want to support the French people? Are you planning on bringing peace, or are you ready to go to war (which is the goal of world leadership and corporations)? If peace, how are YOU going to promote it?
This was just after the horrible events that took place in Paris on Friday the 13th (Nov. 13, 2015).My overall goal with the post was to get people to think about how they could support the concepts of peace instead of those of war. I believe the people who planned this attack desire the world go to war, and I want to do what I can to foil those plans. For me, focusing on peace is the way.

Most of the people who responded to my post did post about peace. However, one person was set off to the point where they first told me that if I believed this was a false flag attack I should unfriend them immediately. I then asked them to define what a false flag attack was and gave them my definition. I also told them it was up to them to unfriend me if they still felt that way. They did unfriend me, and that's okay. It is not for me to change them.

I wish this person would have responded to the question specifically posed to them. I really do want to understand where they are coming from--thoughts, emotions, rationale, etc. As it is, I can only read/feel into it. What I feel (or what my heart tells me) is that they were so threatened by the idea this attack was planned by something bigger than religious extremists they had to lash out at the person who made them consider the thought (me).

Lately when I get triggered in a big way, I try to look at the situation from many angles. I start by asking questions such as, "What about this situation intimidates me?" or "What emotion am I feeling and what do I need to learn from this situation?" This is where I will sit with the information and allow it to sink in. This is where I consciously connect to my heart and search for answers. It is my process for healing and growth and an approach that allows me to quickly work through the energetic blocks in my life.

It is important to understand it is possible to embrace differences. We all experience different things, like different things, believe different things. There is no way we are going to convince all people that what we believe is right, correct or even true. Life is not about changing others. It is about growing and learning. It is about becoming better than you were before. It's about changing self.

The willingness to allow involves both allowing others to BE who they are and allowing ourselves to learn from those experiences we might consider negative. It is in these ways we overcome our own problems to create a better world.

To the person who unfriended me: I still love you. May peace accompany you on your continued journey.

Bringing Love

On Facebook, I see an ocean of profile pictures bearing the colors of the French flag. I know the people who are doing this are trying to show their solidarity with the people of France, but in my heart I am feeling sadness over how many people in the world are still blinded to the truth. The truth is the people of Paris have been sacrificed to the god of war in this November 13th attack. All I see is a call to the people of the world to avenge those innocent lives through more destruction.

The Islamic extremists of ISIS are being blamed for these coordinated attacks. Indeed, I'm sure they are responsible for seeing these acts carried out. The question remains. Who exactly is responsible for planning these attacks and what do they hope to gain from them?

Let's look at possible religious reasons for the attacks. Here in the US the media likes to promote the fear-based idea that muslims want to live under sharia law and are planning to use it to reform law here in the US. This is, after all, a jihad (a holy war), waged by those who would stone us to death for breaking their laws. To me, the idea of changing the world to an archaic muslim legal system is ludicrous. I'm sure there are a few people out there who would love for it to be so. However, I have quite a few muslim friends here in the States. They are all very American in their approach to life. They have no desire to force others to live differently. Muslims in this country who believe otherwise are separatists and are few in number. I equate them to Christians who are radical extremists, like the members of the Westboro Baptist Church in Kansas (the ones who protest at military funerals with signs that say things like "God hates fags"). Fortunately, the vast majority of people on the planet do not believe everyone needs to be converted to their way of thinking.

If war is not a religious thing, what is it? Ask yourself this question. Who would benefit most from war? Several answers are obvious here. Banks and the big multinational corporations that support the war machine would be huge beneficiaries. Banks earn interest (and resources) when governments get loans for war. Corporations profit from increased military spending. I also see the possibility that certain governments would benefit from a fearful population. Populations who fear attack will give up freedoms in order to keep themselves safe. With seven billion people on the planet, controlled populations are much desired by the relatively few people in power.

I believe Martin Luther King, Jr. had the right idea when he said the following:
Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.
Love has the power to bridge gaps and bring people together. Love has the ability to tear down those walls that separate and create a harmony and balance.

When we allow fear to motivate us we become slaves to those who say they are going to protect us. We stop thinking and behave like the good little dogs they see us as in order to stay safe..

It is time to connect to your heart. It is time to consult God/Source/Universal Consciousness for answers. It is time to understand what unconditional love is all about so we can become the change we wish to see in the world. It is only through bringing love that we have the power to change the hate and fear present in the world. It's simple. Begin with "I love you." The rest will follow naturally.

How Do You Look At The World?

I have been a people person from the time I was a small child. My parents are both outgoing, and they have always been great examples on how to love and accept other people--even people who are different from themselves. When I was growing up they introduced me to people from other cultures, and I enjoyed getting to know and understand those differences firsthand.

I was able to embrace and carry this philosophy into adulthood. I have been fortunate enough in this lifetime to meet people who have originated from all over the world, not to mention from various subcultures within the United States. I am lucky to have friends from many different countries, from all races, all religions, all political affiliations, all sexual orientations. I like to call myself an "equal opportunity friend". All I require for friendship is accepting me for who I am, just as I accept you, regardless of differences.

Unfortunately, not everyone has had it as easy as I have. Some people live in areas of the world that have experienced tremendous problems and suffering. These people have learned to live in fear. Even people here in the United States live in fear, much of it caused by listening to the news provided by the mainstream media about how bad things are in the world and even in this country.

If you look at the world through eyes of fear, you automatically live in a state of separation. Fear is the emotion that blocks you off and shuts you down from the rest of the world. Holding fear will not allow you to embrace others or their differences.

On the other hand, if you look at the world through eyes of acceptance and love, you allow yourself to embrace differences. You may not totally understand those differences. You may not really even like them. Liking differences is not required for acceptance and love. True love is open, accepting and inviting, regardless of differences. Love is also the doorway to peace and prosperity.

Note that holding fear is not the same as looking at problems. You can open your eyes to problems in order to find solutions without falling into fear. If your focus on the problem revolves around bringing light and love to it, you create solutions instead of separation.

How do you look at the world? Are you afraid of all those who are different from yourself, or are you able to look past those differences to embrace the heart of each one? Fear or love? The choice you make will either destroy you or bless you. Choose wisely.

Manifesting Peace

We believe we want peace. We look around at all the fighting, all the war, all the violence, yet one day does not become better than the next. The struggle is still a constant in our lives. Why is that? I believe the answer can be found within our own hearts!

Sit back. Close your eyes. Take a few deep, cleansing breaths. Picture yourself--your spirit or soul--contained within your physical heart. Feel yourself fully there in this moment of now. Take the time to explore all those things you find there. What do you find there? Do you feel peace or are you worried about something? Do you see/feel conflict in the world around you?

What you see/feel in your heart is important because what is in your heart manifests in your physical world. If you feel conflict with another person in your heart, it is present in your outer world. If you see the wars and violence in your heart, it becomes present in the world around you.

What can you do to change this? Use this heart meditation time to feel something different. Remember times in your life where you felt truly joyful and happy. Get very specific. Maybe your memory was of your birthday, where people were present to celebrate you! Notice the happiness around you. Ask yourself, "In this happy moment, was there conflict?" If you picked the best memory, the answer should be "no". Reflect on the feelings the memory brings up--especially the peace aspect. Allow yourself to sit with those feelings until you once again begin to feel them in the rest of your body.

The bottom line is, peace is either part of your frequency/energy or it is not. If you do not carry that vibration of peace with you everywhere you go, you will not see it in your outside world. Like attracts like. That's what the old saying "Birds of a feather flock together" means.

It is up to each one of us to BE peace in the world. If you profess peace but have conflict with a friend or family member or coworker, you are not BEing peace. You are not carrying that frequency. If you believe others have to change to bring about peace you are focused on something outside yourself which you have no real control over. The only thing this will accomplish is to keep you separate, and separation is not part of peace.

Peace is not merely the absence of conflict. It is also the understanding that, on some level, we are all truly interconnected and interdependent on each other. Until we are able to internalize this concept, we will continue to have conflict in our lives.

Peace, like everything else, is a choice. Manifesting peace is a matter of looking within and understanding we are all One.

Defining Forgiveness

What is forgiveness? The dictionary defines it as several different things. To stop feeling anger or blame against someone or something. Another definition of forgiveness is to stop requiring payment on something that is owed. This could be money, but often it goes much farther than that. There is an element here where the offended person expects something back to make amends for whatever was given, lost, or taken.

There are many times in our lives where we hold on to unforgiveness. When we do this, we block energy from flowing. At these times we choose to hold on to sadness, or anger, or pain of some kind. Often we are not even aware we are doing it. The blocked energy may not be a total block. There can be areas where energy is still exchanged and flowing in our lives. That said, any area that has a block can be made better by removing that block.

I had a friend years ago who allowed unforgiveness to define her. She was a single parent (I was still a single parent at the time) and a fellow soccer mom. We became quite close when we discovered we were divorced for the same reason: our husbands had left for someone else. There was one big difference between us though. My friend chose to hang on to her anger against her ex. She dwelt on the anger and hurt. She did things to try to get back at her ex, including trying to turn their kids against him. She even allowed these feelings to come between our relationship because I chose to be nice to her husband and his new wife at soccer games! (On a side note: I was nice to my ex and his wife at soccer games as well.) My friend was just not able to let this anger go and it showed in almost everything she did.

Forgiveness is where healing begins! By defining and understanding all those places in ourselves where we hold on to negative emotions or feelings, we systematically begin to let go of the anger or blame that controls our lives. We allow energy to loosen up and becoming free flowing once again!

Isn't it time you looked at all those things holding you back from flow and abundance in all areas of your life? By understanding all those places where you hold unforgiveness, you set blocked energy free and allow yourself to live a life of beauty, hope and joy.

Creating Sacred Space

Sometimes, connecting to your heart is easier to do if you have a special place set up where you go to meditate and pray. As I look back at my life, I realize that I have often used special places and objects in order to remind myself of all those things that make me happy and keep me connected to the divine.

When I was a small child, this sacred space usually consisted of some shelf or tabletop in my bedroom where I would keep my treasures. At any given time, an observer would see pretty rocks I had collected, a feather I found  outside, and several knick knacks given to me by my mom or others. All these things would remind me of the happy times I spent outside in nature, that there is beauty in the world, and that I was loved and valued.

Ironically, as I've gotten older I still have many of the same things in my sacred spaces (yes, I have several now that I have my own home). Rocks (aka crystals), knick knacks, inspirational quotes, and candles are among my favorites now. Basically all still things that remind me of nature, beauty and the fact that I am loved.

You can even use outdoor settings for your sacred space. A beautiful grove of trees, a bench tucked into a small nook in your garden, or even a swing on your back porch can all be places you go to seek the quiet and solitude you need to find your own heart. Bring in a potted plant or ornamental stones to complete the calm and serene place you need to find Oneness.

The truth is, you can connect to your heart at any time and any place. However, using the same place allows you to find your center a little more quickly as your body begins to remember what happened the last time you were in that spot. Create your own sacred space to encourage the blessings of the heart to flow to you!

Unrecognized Traits Of An Empath

I had an extremely interesting conversation with a fellow empath the other day. We weren't discussing being empaths as such, but it occurred to me during the discussion that some of the experiences we were discussing were the direct result of being highly empathic. I realized some of these things were not on the usual "traits of an empath" lists you can find on the internet, so I thought I would share them with you in the hope that you might be able to recognize some of them in yourself.

Unrecognized Traits Of An Empath:

  1. Empaths are more likely to speak truth, even if doing so causes pain in the short term. Empaths abhor pain and will usually avoid causing it. However, when confronted with a direct question an empath will usually tell the truth. They understand that sometimes short term pain is better than the greater long term pain that will occur down the road by maintaining a lie.
  2. Empaths are less likely to have confrontations with other people. Because empaths know what others are feeling, they can usually avoid confrontations before they begin by anticipating the need and providing that for them.
  3. Empaths may have many friends and acquaintances, but very few close friends. Most people are naturally drawn to empaths. However, empaths are very choosy when it comes to close friends. While empaths are nice to everybody, they only choose to reveal their inner selves with those who are trustworthy.
  4. Empaths are not into gossip. They know how much gossip can hurt and how often it backfires.
  5. Empaths hold themselves to high standards of integrity. They try to do things "right" the first time so that pain will be lessened for themselves and others.
  6. Empaths will often shield themselves with a "business-like" approach to life. Empaths like to hide behind society's rules in order to decrease their personal responsibility in causing pain. They know the pain is inevitable, but it can be easier to justify when they have "the rules" to back them up in it.
Understand this is by no means an exhaustive list of traits. It is meant only to give additional insight into what an empath is. Do you identify with any of the things on this list?

Converting The Masses

If you've been reading my blog regularly, you understand I am a "conspiracy theorist". Yes, some of my ideas can be a little out there, but believe it or not I don't just make statements without having done the research to back it up. Understand occasionally I do slip up and reveal what I believe without going into great detail about why I believe it--mainly because people get bored with the details and won't listen anyway. The thing is, it is important to reveal your beliefs even when you think no one is listening. You may just end up converting someone in the process!

I have the friend I met while working my part-time retail job. This particular friend was studying to be a nurse. Needless to say, when she heard my alternative health philosophy she would roll her eyes. Of course I was a quack. I was spouting off ideas that went against many of the things she was learning. What she didn't know is that health is probably my most heavily researched area. Not only is it a strong area of interest for me, but it was also my introduction to the truth of conspiracy theories.

One day at work, I happened to quote a fact about serotonin, the neurotransmitter. (Ironically, this is one of the facts that got me started on my conspiracy journey.) I mentioned that something like 80 percent of all the serotonin in your body is produced in the digestive tract. Considering serotonin is something associated with the brain and the central nervous system, this truly does not sound accurate. The digestive tract is definitely not something usually associated with neurotransmitters. I'm pretty sure my friend heard me say this and made up her mind then and there to research it herself so she could prove me wrong. Only thing is, I am not wrong.

The next day, she came back to work and said, "Cindy, I researched what you said about serotonin, and you were right! Only, your statistic was slightly off. It's really 85 percent of serotonin is produced in the digestive tract! Why are they not teaching this to me in nursing school?"

I looked her in the eye and asked her, "If people understood they could cure themselves with the food they ate, would they want to take all those high priced drugs they are prescribed that often have terrible side effects?"

It was funny. After this incident, she began to listen to me a little more when I talked about health. She understood I was doing the research to back up my claims.

That is the way when you want to convert the masses. If you give them a full lecture about why you believe what you do, they will tune you out after a few minutes. Continue to say what you believe, brief and to the point. Allow them to ask questions according to their own interests. At some point, you will say something that will hold their attention and make them dig more deeply.

It only takes one fact to make someone understand that much of what they have been taught to be true is a lie. Be patient but persistent. At the point where their hearts convict them, they will become converts. We cannot force the process. That is the job of the heart. Trust and allow the heart to do what it does best--connect us together as one.

Corruption Of The Divine Masculine

We are in process of rebirthing the Divine Feminine. That said, it is important for people to understand just what the Divine Masculine is and how it has been usurped and corrupted to benefit a few dark people/entities. We all have both masculine and feminine qualities, although certain qualities are more pronounced in some than in others. Because corruption has occurred on both sides, defining this half will help bring understanding of where to go and how to proceed.

The Divine Masculine is a warrior for light and truth. It is the masculine side of things that is tuned in to the physical 3D world. With this in mind, the Divine Masculine uses its innate strength to become protector and provider for the feminine half. The value of the Divine Masculine's rational thinking and focus enables one to quickly make decisions based on safety and allows the person to create valuable tools and structures which can be used to enhance life. The Divine Masculine also understands the value of the Divine Feminine--especially the feminine ability to connect to the unseen world through the heart and intuition--and works to protect and nurture it.

There are many ways the Divine Masculine has been corrupted. First and foremost is allowing the idea that physical strength and rational wisdom is far superior to heart strength and intuitive wisdom. This has led to societies and cultures where woman are physically dominated and forced to become second class citizens without the power or even credit they deserve. That said, there is actually a much more insidious reason we have been conned into believing this. When we focus on the physical aspect of things and disrespect the intuitive, we become separate from our hearts and separate from the source of our own innate power. When we believe we are separate and powerless, it is easy for those who are power hungry to take our power and dominate and enslave us. Ironic, but true!

As we work to bring forth the Divine Feminine to her rightful place of equality, we need to understand the Divine Masculine is a necessary part of the process. We cannot bring out the Divine Feminine without the Divine Masculine doing its job!

Understand that we all have within us both masculine and feminine qualities, divine and corrupt. It is time to force the darkness to recede so we can usher in a new world of light, love and connection where all are valued for the beauty they possess. It is not about domination. It is about equality. It is about balance. By relying on the Divine Masculine we have the physical power and the drive/focus to make it so.

What Women Deserve

As I work through the process of self-healing, I am amazed at the amount of information that comes through as I ask questions. My personal journey lately has involved large blocks of time spent on assisting and reawakening the Divine Feminine aspects of myself, and with that process comes a very profound truth. The Divine Feminine has been corrupted to the point that women have become second class citizens. Women deserve so much more than what they have endured.

It begins from the time we are born. While emphasis is placed on our feminine side, it is not on the Divine Feminine. For example, instead of focusing on the intuitive, empathic nature of the heart we are told what we are experiencing is our own internal drama not related to the outside world. We are taught to contain and suppress it instead of allowing the awareness intuition brings to assist us in our ability to love and heal. The focus is all on what is outside self as opposed to what lies within. For girls, that emphasis is placed on how they can serve with little or no thought given to what sort of gifts they should expect back in return. Even making oneself more "beautiful" is considered by many to be of utmost importance.

By the time a girl hits puberty, her self esteem has usually hit an all-time low. Instead of being nurtured in her feminine gifts, she has spent her life being compared to the masculine idea of self and found lacking. Societal memes such as "run like a girl", "fight like a girl", "girls aren't good at math and science", etc. all contribute to girls looking at outside attributes and comparing their personal differences to boys, who are held up as the standard. Consequently, girls often continue down the road of subservience.

By the time girls reach adulthood the transformation is complete. They give everything they have in their roles of daughter, wife, mother. Even when their energy finds a career they enjoy and can make a difference in they often minimize their contributions. Most of their energy gets expended on the outside world while they forget they deserve an equal energy back.

The fact of the matter is, women deserve much more than they have been given. They are not doormats catering to a man's every whim. They are not inferior in mind or body, regardless of physical strength. They should not be held to higher standards of beauty than men. In fact, the Divine Masculine actually honors the beauty and strength of the whole woman--especially the divine, intuitive connection to Source energy.

It is time for women to acknowledge what they do have and demand more from the world at large. We are strong, we are capable, we are connected, and we will connect you to that place of heart! We will guide you home!

Arise The Priestess!

I grew up in a church that was controlled by a male priesthood. That all changed in the late 80's when they finally began to allow women into the priesthood ranks. Many people who held literal interpretations of the scriptures fell away as they truly believed that only men should rule in the church, over the home, etc. Regardless of this upbringing, I always felt my own personal connection to the Divine. The more I follow this journey of the heart, the more I understand something quite profound: true spirituality is a result of a person connecting to the Divine Feminine part of self, not the Divine Masculine that religion seems to focus on.

The Divine Masculine is connected to and aligned with the more physical aspects of self: physical strength, protection, provider. This is the part of self tied to the brain, rational thinking, and focus--the part that uses experience to navigate around potential pitfalls. It does indeed play an important role in our lives, but it is not the main role or the only role.

It is the Divine Feminine that completes and compliments the Divine Masculine. The Divine Feminine is the part of self that is connected to the heart and intuition. It uses the power of divine love to bind us all together in Oneness.

The problem with an all male priesthood is that it tends to focus on only one aspect of self, and in its present form it is a corrupted version of the Divine Masculine. Somewhere along the way, priesthood and religion became about ruling through mind and physical strength. In this form, the masculine becomes coercion and control. It is no longer about support and protection.

It is time for the Divine Feminine to shake off the chains of her slavery! No longer can she be forced to play second fiddle when her strength and power lies in her connection to Source--her connection to heart! The Divine Feminine has been neglected long enough!

Awaken to the lies of our programming! Awaken to the power and wisdom that comes from tapping into the intuitive heart! Allow your Divine Masculine to protect and support your Divine Feminine's spirituality!

Arise the priestess! Reconnect to the Divine within!!!

An Invitation To Healing Thru Forgiveness

I am a healer. I am both in process of healing myself and facilitating others in their own self-healing processes. With that in mind, I would like to invite those of you who feel so led to join me in my new Facebook group, Healing Thru Forgiveness.

The goal of the group is to be a safe place for people who are working on healing. It is a place to ask questions of myself and others who may be going through similar issues. It is a place to ask for prayers or positive energy to be sent your way. It is a place to post stories of healing techniques that have worked for yourself or others. Feel free to post inspirational thoughts and pictures as well, as many times they are healing in and of themselves.

Through connecting to each other, we can help ourselves and the planet heal in so many ways! Won't you join me in the process of healing so we can usher in a new way of living, a new way of life?

Holding The Space, Healing The Collective

Ever feel like your personal problems are part of a much bigger collective of problems? This is not your imagination! Because we are all One (and not the separate entities we believe ourselves to be), the vast majority of problems we experience are shared by the vast majority of people on the planet. This holds considerable promise when it comes to healing. We can actually help heal the whole planet when we hold the space and work on our own piece of it!

Recently, I have experienced some emotional triggers that really made me take notice. With the help of a good friend and fellow healer, I was able to isolate the tension I felt to my abdomen--basically the area of the Solar Plexus (3rd) Chakra which is connected to power and self-esteem. I visualized it as this huge, black twisted mass that was highly contracted.

After talking about it and asking questions, I understood this mass was all held in place by suppression. I began to recall bits and pieces of numerous female past lives where someone or something managed to place me in some sort of box so I could not be who I was. It was the suppression of the Divine Feminine. As each layer was allowed to build up, the mass grew bigger.

We worked to send healing light and energy to the mass. In process, it came to me that the last few lifetimes the suppression was so intense because I had begun to suppress myself. I had become so tired of the physical pain I had endured that I suppressed myself before it got physical. The healing power of Mother Earth was brought in as she has the actual power to ground and center us. This had almost immediate positive effect on me because I have a very strong connection to the land.

The really cool part about this process was that it felt as though we were not only doing personal work, but that healing this place in myself was serving to heal the suppression of the Divine Feminine at large. There is still a great deal of work to be done, but it is happening. I see evidence as I connect with many of my friends, They are also working through many of the same issues that confront the Divine Feminine on this planet, and they too are beginning to overcome them.

It is time to tune in to all those sacred places within that connect you to the Divine Feminine part of yourself. It is time to remember yourself as healer, as caretaker, as intuitive counselor. It is time to embody unconditional love. Heal yourself and the planet heals with you. Holding the space for one holds the space for all!

Mama

I have a wonderfully loving and spiritual earthly mother that I have learned a lot from. Still, this post is not about her. It's about a mother who is both physical and spiritual and is mother to us all--Gaia, better known as Mother Earth.

Mama is making a comeback in a big way lately. Terrible men have made technologies that have hurt and destroyed Mama. They've polluted her land, atmosphere and water. They've harvested her life's blood and precious organs in the pursuit of riches--even to the point of injecting her with toxic wastes in order to gain more. Still, with all that she continues to work to heal herself at the same time she heals us from these toxic effects. Mama's heart still beats. As it does so, healing energies are projected from within to the beings who receive life from her.

Mama is the ultimate life support system. She provides all the essential ingredients needed to sustain life on her. She provides all these things to every living being on her, all without charge. None of us would continue to exist without her  support, yet many of us believe we are more entitled to Mama's resources than others of us. We even harvest her resources in an attempt to seize power and control. Mama gives to all equally. It is humans that don't always play fair.

Mama is the ultimate healer. On a physical level, she emits electrons. Scientific studies have proven these electrons have an antioxidant effect on the body when we are directly connected to Mama through touching her, human flesh directly to earth or natural water source. Animals and plants naturally get this from her. It is only man who becomes physically disconnected through his own "advances" in technology.

The healing is spiritual as well. Those who take the time to connect to her through communing with nature can feel it. I know for me personally, my mind is soothed and I feel I have the strength to go on after spending even a few minutes walking in the woods or on the beach. Even being outside among the trees and grass restores me to the point of feeling much more grounded and connected to my heart.

Mama is the ultimate example of the Divine Feminine. She is provider, nurturer, healer. She connects to everything that lives on her in unseen ways. It is her love for all her children that sustains us. Man has spent thousands of years trying to control and tame her, yet for all those attempts she still manages to resist and provides life and healing to her children.

Mama loves us all--even the "naughty" ones. Isn't it time we gave Mama back all the love and consideration she has shown us?

Our Own Worst Enemy

I've had many female past lives. Recently, I've noticed a common thread among many of them. I usually began life as a very brilliant, independent (and headstrong) young woman and over time was stifled and suppressed in some way. Often times, the suppression would be physical as that was the only way to really bring me down. In more recent lifetimes though, I felt myself being more on guard. I would hide who I was before anyone could physically suppress me. Instead of being the shining light I was born to be I would suppress myself. I have become my own worst enemy.

I would say that is true with many of us. We are our own worst enemies. Instead of allowing our gifts and talents to be expressed in the world, we hide them. We believe we are not good enough. We trust our programming that problems and mistakes overshadow the good we do. Often we feel so unworthy we allow our lives to be wasted in the hamster wheel that is the world today.

Now is the time to remember who we are. We are all brilliant, shining lights full of gifts and talents that can illuminate the whole world if we allow ourselves to shine! We do not need to live dull, ordinary lives so that a few people can benefit from our labors.

We allow this to happen because we are cut off from our hearts--our own connection to the Divine. We listen to our programming because we have been taught to ignore what is inside us. It is our hearts that help us find ourselves again. It is in our hearts that we begin to reconnect with our own self worth.

Stop being your own worst enemy. Dare to dream. Dare to follow your own heart!

What You Need To Know About Meditation

I always begin my radio show with a meditation designed to get people centered on their hearts. While it is my hope that this will enable people to connect to the Oneness that lives within, I don't necessarily believe it will be effective for all people. The ways I connect to Oneness may not be what you need, and that's okay. What you need to know about meditation and connecting within is that there is no right way or wrong way to do it. What is important is to find something that works for you.

There are meditations I have personally found more helpful to myself than others. Does this make the less helpful ones wrong or bad? No. They just don't seem to work as well for me. Chances are, they are a better fit for other people, and this is where their usefulness comes in.

Understand that if something makes you feel extremely negative, you need to question why. There is information there that you need to be aware of. That information may be telling to you run far away from whatever gave you the negative feelings in the first place. It may be telling you this is something you need to face and tell you how to do so. When you do not pay attention or just run away without asking for clarity, the problem will rear its ugly head sometime down the road.

The most important thing to be aware of is this: if someone tells you to meditate in a certain way and it does not feel right, don't do it!!! Your heart will instruct you on what is best for you. If you follow anything other than that, you can more easily be led astray.

There is a practice that will work for you. It is a matter of giving yourself time to connect and listen to the instruction that comes from within. Your heart knows. Trust its guidance.

The Refiner's Fire

I had a breakfast appointment with a friend the other day. This particular friend and I have a lot in common because we share the experience of having been divorced. Both of us suffered forms of suppression and abuse in those relationships, and both of us seemed to have learned a great deal from our suffering. What hit me was that there are some very powerful lights here on Earth who apparently agreed to such a life before coming here.

We discussed the idea of being marked--bringing such light into our reality that darkness is attracted to it. Indeed, this is the way our world operates. It's sort of moth to a flame with the moth equating to the darkness. The only way that darkness can be transformed is by approaching the light, often to the point of being consumed by it.

We also talked about marriage to unequal partners and the fact that marrying someone who is not your equal can bring you down. Ending the relationship helps, but at what cost? It took me years of rebuilding to get back to my former self. I remember going in to the relationship knowing I was stronger and believing I had enough strength to help my partner through it. The thing is, you cannot fix someone who does not want to be fixed.

As I chatted with my friend, I realized the mutual theme here was the suppression of the divine feminine. Life on planet Earth has been about squashing all those qualities that are sacred in the feminine--intuition, caretaking, and unconditional love--qualities of the heart that women are so often drawn to. Even the rise of feminism has managed to suppress this divine feminine spirit as these heart qualities are ruled over by the more masculine powers of the mind. It isn't about bringing out the feminine. It's about becoming masculine to succeed in a very masculine world.

Those women like myself who have gone through this process of overcoming suppression have been sent through a refiner's fire. It's a process of cleaning out all that negativity and leaving the pure feminine heart intact. The gold that lies within can then be seen in all its strength, glory and power.

Arise from your graves and allow that light within to shine for the world to see. It is the refining process that has made you better! It is the refining process that makes you whole!
