Converting The Masses

If you've been reading my blog regularly, you understand I am a "conspiracy theorist". Yes, some of my ideas can be a little out there, but believe it or not I don't just make statements without having done the research to back it up. Understand occasionally I do slip up and reveal what I believe without going into great detail about why I believe it--mainly because people get bored with the details and won't listen anyway. The thing is, it is important to reveal your beliefs even when you think no one is listening. You may just end up converting someone in the process!

I have the friend I met while working my part-time retail job. This particular friend was studying to be a nurse. Needless to say, when she heard my alternative health philosophy she would roll her eyes. Of course I was a quack. I was spouting off ideas that went against many of the things she was learning. What she didn't know is that health is probably my most heavily researched area. Not only is it a strong area of interest for me, but it was also my introduction to the truth of conspiracy theories.

One day at work, I happened to quote a fact about serotonin, the neurotransmitter. (Ironically, this is one of the facts that got me started on my conspiracy journey.) I mentioned that something like 80 percent of all the serotonin in your body is produced in the digestive tract. Considering serotonin is something associated with the brain and the central nervous system, this truly does not sound accurate. The digestive tract is definitely not something usually associated with neurotransmitters. I'm pretty sure my friend heard me say this and made up her mind then and there to research it herself so she could prove me wrong. Only thing is, I am not wrong.

The next day, she came back to work and said, "Cindy, I researched what you said about serotonin, and you were right! Only, your statistic was slightly off. It's really 85 percent of serotonin is produced in the digestive tract! Why are they not teaching this to me in nursing school?"

I looked her in the eye and asked her, "If people understood they could cure themselves with the food they ate, would they want to take all those high priced drugs they are prescribed that often have terrible side effects?"

It was funny. After this incident, she began to listen to me a little more when I talked about health. She understood I was doing the research to back up my claims.

That is the way when you want to convert the masses. If you give them a full lecture about why you believe what you do, they will tune you out after a few minutes. Continue to say what you believe, brief and to the point. Allow them to ask questions according to their own interests. At some point, you will say something that will hold their attention and make them dig more deeply.

It only takes one fact to make someone understand that much of what they have been taught to be true is a lie. Be patient but persistent. At the point where their hearts convict them, they will become converts. We cannot force the process. That is the job of the heart. Trust and allow the heart to do what it does best--connect us together as one.

Unplugging From the Matrix

I'm a big fan of the movie "The Matrix". In it, the main character Neo (played by Keanu Reeves) comes to the understanding where he knows he is trapped, but he doesn't know exactly how or in what way. Still, he questions until he finds people that help him discover the answer. The truth he learns is that the life he thought was real is actually illusion, totally played out within the confines of his mind through the use of an elaborate computer system known as the matrix.

In many ways, this movie parallels life on planet Earth. We have been fed a series of illusions--lies so big and elaborate it is difficult to believe they could be real. We, like Neo, sense that something is not right. We struggle to make sense of our world--the senseless violence, the tremendous poverty of many and greed of the few, the disease which gets more prevalent instead of less common. Most days it feels as though we are spiraling out of control without much hope.

We are on the verge of a breakthrough! Like Neo, we are asking and seeking like never before! It is asking the question that allows us to come to new understandings. By looking at things we ignored in the past we are able to identifying our own chains. It is all about waking up.

The movie clip I posted is scary. Neo wakes up to find he is not in his apartment but in some fluid filled tank surrounded by thousands of other fluid filled tanks, each containing another human. It's akin to waking up and finding yourself in hell.

Although waking up is not a pleasant experience, it is a necessary one. We cannot change the constructs we fail to recognize. As long as we think inside the matrix, we cannot free ourselves from the illusions created by others to feed on our energies. Our lives are not our own.

Creating a better world involves detaching ourselves from the illusion and building something new from the ground up. Believe it can be much better than the ugliness that surrounds us. Freedom is ours when we unplug ourselves from the matrix.

The Turning Point

Today, all eyes are on Greece and the markets. Greece itself has declared a banking holiday today because it is getting ready to default on loans, potentially setting off a chain reaction that will ultimately lead to the demise of the petrodollar. The Asian markets are already down substantially, and the markets in Europe are falling.

That said, if I know anything about the powers that be, they will do their best to prop up the markets--even if it means publicly lying about them and manipulating the actual sales statistics. Otherwise, they will have to admit defeat. The demise of their power (the petrodollar) is not an easy thing for them to admit to. Because they totally control the mainstream media, they do have the power to put off the inevitable. Reality is largely what most people believe it to be. If a fact is generally ignored by the public, the powers that be can use that ignorance to perpetuate their myth.

The thing is, there is a point where the majority finally know something is up, and it is coming sooner rather than later. More and more people wake up to what is going on around them every day. The distractions and manipulations are becoming so commonplace they are beginning to be obvious to even those most asleep.

Look at all the things going on in the United States in the past two weeks. A racially motivated church killing in the deep South. Controversy over an old symbol of slavery (the Confederate flag). The US Supreme Court ruling all gay marriages to be constitutional. Even though there is much debate going on, the American people have been largely peaceful. They can distract us enough to argue, but they cannot goad us into fighting.

The final turning point will be when they can no longer distract us enough to waste time arguing. When the majority can finally look at news on the mainstream media and say, "This is garbage! What is really going on behind the scenes?", then we will know their time is finally over.

The turning point comes when the majority stops playing the manipulation game and begins thinking for themselves. It may come today. It may come a few months from now, but it is definitely coming. The momentum is too great to stop it.

We are on the brink of amazing change! Chin up! The light is coming!!!
