The United State's Dark Night Of The Soul

The dark night of the soul is a term often used to describe a sacred life journey where one is confronted by his/her own worst darkness. Experiences vary as each individual is unique, but suffice it to say the trip is always accompanied by pain and fear. It is not easy to battle your demons--especially when the demons come from the inside.

The interesting part of about this journey of the soul is that a person begins the trip believing that the darkness originates outside himself. He/she fights and plots and strategizes and becomes thoroughly overwhelmed by problems that only get worse over time. It is only when the person becomes aware the problems lie within that they begin to tame the darkness. Peace comes with the understanding the monster is part of who we are and must be tamed by the angel in order to successfully overcome it.

The United State is going through its own dark night of the soul. We have come to a point in our history where we can no longer deny our way of life has become detrimental to the vast majority of our people. Darkness is rearing its ugly head as citizens fight about which Presidential candidate has the power to save us. Our problems and fears have definitely come to the surface as we try to face and tame them.

The funny and interesting thing about this process is how convinced we all are that the side we have chosen is superior in every way. Our problems come from the ways others view these same issues. We could not be wrong! We are not responsible for these problems--or so the stories go.

If you are reading this post, this is your wake-up call! The problems in the United States are not here because Bill Clinton's Congress de-regulated the banks (or anything that followed). The problems did not come from bankers working in collusion to bilk the masses of their wealth. The problems didn't come from poor people begging the government for handouts or illegal workers taking American jobs. Our problems were created because of our own laziness and apathy! We sat back and allowed others to take responsibility for what happens in our world and consequently lost control of it! This is how our own darkness is rearing its ugly head. We alone are the ones who have the power to change it.

It is time to recognize where our own inaction and apathy has led us. It is time to take personal responsibility for each and everything we do. It is time to treat others as we wish to be treated! It is time to recognize where the corruption lies and begin to prosecute those responsible so they are also held accountable for their actions. Restitution must be a way of life if we are to right the wrongs that have been committed.

The dark night of the soul is a powerful journey of descent, but the demons you confront in the depths make it possible for you to see the light once again. The United States--even the whole world--is making that journey. Know it cannot get better until we come to terms with the darkness that lies within. Deal with the darkness, and emerge into the light!

We're Looking At Politics All Wrong!

This Presidential race has been a very eye-opening experience for me. Because of past experiences, I have chosen to not participate. I did not go to my primary. I am not going to vote in November. I do this because I am convinced it does not matter. The candidates are pre-selected to make us think we have a say.

That said, sitting back in observation mode has been an extremely eye-opening experience. I have to admit, the shake-up in the Republican party has given me a reason to hope. It isn't that I see Donald Trump as some big savior. I definitely believe he has a big role to play in this drama, but even if he ends up being elected to the highest office in the land he is not going to solve all our problems. Like everyone else Trump has his good points and his bad points. He is both evil and good, and this is where the heart of our problems reside.

We are looking at politics from the perspective of judgment! We have been so highly programmed to see everything as black and white, right and wrong, good and bad that we continue to divide ourselves up and separate ourselves into groups. We then identify with these groups so strongly that when someone else has a different idea of what "right" is we fight. This is why this Presidential race has gotten so nasty. We can blame our fighting on the faultiness of the opposing candidate, but the bottom line is we have chosen our sides. Fighting is our choice.

What if I told you it isn't about choosing sides? What if I told you our problems have occurred because of our own apathy and lack of participation in the decision-making process. No, I'm not talking about voting. I am talking about paying attention, being aware of what is happening in the world and following our hearts as to what we can BE in the world that will contribute our gifts and talents on useful ways.

As far as Presidential candidates go, I like Bernie. I like him because he sees the hurt in the world and wants to fix it. That said, I don't think his solutions would work. He is trying to work within the system we already have. That system is so corrupt no amount of changing the funding is going to fix it. It is extremely easy for the powers that be to minimize him because of this. 

As I look at the situation at hand, I don't really like the person I perceive Trump is. He is brash, arrogant, and in some ways corrupt himself. However, in this moment, I don't believe our present choice is about fixing our problems. I believe it is about upsetting the apple cart. No amount of mortar is going to fix the foundation that is crumbling around us. 

As I look back at my own life, there is one thing I understand. My best and biggest learning experiences occurred when I endured the most pain. To a casual onlooker, those experiences could have been termed "bad". Yes, they were difficult. Yes, they were painful. I would not be the person I am today if I had not gone through them. 

Understand this Presidential race is not about separation. It is not about us and them. It is about setting up the conditions to break down what is unstable so that we may begin again and create something new and infinitely better. The pain we experience now is not the end. It is a stepping stone to the place we want to go. Trust the process!

Observations On Donald Trump

At risk of alienating a good many people, I am going to share what I see about the presidential campaign of businessman Donald Trump. This has nothing to do with how I perceive him personally. This has everything to do with how the media is portraying him and what that says to me.

I don't believe the media when they tell me something. All media, including what we consider entertainment, is owned and controlled by six corporations. When you place control of such technology in the hands of very few people, you can expect everything to come out sounding the same (and it does). What you end up with is propaganda. Don't believe me? Watch this!

Although these are amusing examples of the lengths media moguls go to in order to sanitize and control the news, it really does happen.

Look at the headlines regarding Donald Trump. A quick look at the headlines just this morning. On MSNBC: The Lid: Why #NeverTrump May Never Win, Elizabeth Warren Unleashes on 'Loser' Donald Trump, Trump Warns Against Republican Split, and Trump Keeps Lead But Divisions Exist Among Evangelicals. On CNN: Trump tries to prove his Israel bona fides, Trump breaks his own rules, uses teleprompter, Trump on Warren: Who's that Indian?, Trump defends his hands--Again, and Trump's anti-Washington campaign hits Washington. On ABC: Donald Trump Calls Disparaging Comments About Women 'Show Business', Trump Refers to Elizabeth Warren as 'the Indian', Kasich Jabs Trump Over Israel-Palestinian Conflict, and Trump Says He Stands With Israel, Daughter Having 'Beautiful Jewish Baby'. Even on conservative FOX: Trump, Clinton battle for Israel vote, vow support in major Washington speeches, Trump meets with GOP lawmakers in DC, urges party to 'embrace' him, Montana GOP officials fit to 'close' primary in complication for Trump, Romney makes robocalls for Cruz in Arizona, Utah, and Clinton Brings 2016 fight to AIPAC stage, takes shots at Trump on Israel. A brief look at these headlines tells me two things: the press is spending an inordinate amount of time disparaging Donald Trump and the establishment (the GOP in particular) is doing everything in their power to see that he does not become their party's presidential nominee. These two facts alone tell me the powers that be are very scared of Donald Trump.

Why would that be? On appearance, the Donald seems to be the typical insider. He was born rich. He hobnobs with the rich, famous and connected. He is a billionaire who makes multimillion dollar deals frequently. In so many ways he comes across as the arrogant showman. His sounds bytes are consistantly turned into incriminating statements.

I also see a few things he has said and done that make me believe he knows a lot of truth about the establishment. He knows 9/11 was an inside job, although he hasn't exactly come out and said it. I know this because of statements he has made regarding friends in the towers who died that day as well as his statements about celebrating Muslims. My research into 9/11 has lead me to similar information. Trump knows he can only reveal so much information on topics like 9/11 as the American people are not ready to face a good deal of it yet.

I really don't believe any presidential candidate can solve our problems. While certain ideas sound good, getting them implemented is a whole other problem because of the great divisions within We the People. To me, this presidential race is not about good/bad or right/wrong. It's about upsetting the apple cart and who is best suited to do it. Love him or hate him, Donald Trump has the potential to be that man. Just my two cents.

What The Heart Knows

The past few weeks have been difficult, and I can sense it in more than just me. There is a great deal of angst in the world. Tensions have been running high. People are angrier and more aggressive. It feels as though we have all been placed in a pressure cooker to stew and the pressure is steadily increasing with no end in sight.

There are forces in the world working overtime to convince us that we are separate and alone. It is especially easy to see in the US Presidential race. On social media, people get so focused on the righteousness of their candidate they can no longer see that together we are one. People are busy arguing and name-calling and "unfriending" anyone who disagrees with them. It's a craziness that, if people took the time to step back and observe, they would see how ludicrous it has all become. They just can't see the forest for the trees.

What my heart tells me is this: we are nothing without our connection to our fellow beings. When we are focused on our separateness, we are weak. Powerless even. The beings that have ruled our planet for centuries understand this and use it to their advantage. Divide and Conquer is a game they are masterful at, and as long as we continue to sleep they will take advantage of us and keep us separate in order to stay in power.

What the heart knows is this: we are only strong when we rely on our heart connections. We are at our most powerful when we are focused on love and connected in to its Source. This heart connection is where our creativity and strength reside. It is the place of solution. It is the only thing that will free us from tyranny.

It is time to forget our separateness. It is time to forget you are a Democrat or Republican or Tory or whatever your political affiliation. It is time to forget you are Christian or Muslim or Buddhist or Atheist. It is time to forget you are straight, gay, transsexual, etc. It is only by coming together as one we will be able to create a better world. It is only through love we will find our way.

Riding Out The Storm

Today's energies are strange and intense. Several people I know are being struck with severe medical issues. Politics are beginning to take a very odd and interesting turn. Above the surface we understand there are problems. Below the surface, the vast majority of people are asking questions about the very information they have avoided for many years. All of this signals a time of great change. We are in the midst of a worldwide storm.

Almost everything in our world needs to be changed. There is far too much poverty. Far too much hunger. Far too much violence. Far too much war. Far too much disease. There is far too much pain in general, and the problem with that is our hearts tell us it does not have to be this way. Our hearts understand there are better ways of doing things.

Riding out the storm effectively requires us to spend time in prayer and meditation. It requires us to connect with those deep places in our hearts where the answers reside. There is a great need to see beyond the lies we accept as truths. These are the very lies the foundations of our world were built on and are now falling apart in the storm.

Storms are a cleansing process. They wash away filth. They clear the air. They tear down structures that are falling apart and in need of repair. While we mourn for what is lost, many times we are able to build something much more beautiful and lasting than what we had before because we are not limited to the same old useless and tired structures.

We are powerful beyond measure! Now is the time to gain courage! While we may struggle now, it will not last. Kicking and screaming aside, struggle is what transitions us to the next phase of life!  

I wish I could say it was going to get better before it gets worse. I believe our world will continue to be chaotic for a long time. What I can say is this: riding out the storm is a process of refinement where we learn what we are made of. Settle in and be patient. The storm will not last, and we will be ready to rebuild when the time comes.

Creating Something New!

If you haven't already noticed, the world is changing in BIG ways! Investment experts are screaming that the world financial system has collapsed because of the derivatives market ponzi scheme. Here in the US, we are having an almost unbelievable race for President where the candidates with the most momentum are not backed by the powers that be that run things behind-the-scenes. (You can tell because people continue to vote for Trump and Sanders even though the media is trying to portray they are not making progress.) Personally, I am seeing many more people wake up to the fact that the media does not tell the truth as the lies have become so large the holes are obvious. The world as we know it is falling apart, and I see this as a good thing!

How can a world in self-destruct mode be a good thing? Destruction (or de-construction) is the process that clears space to create something new! There are times in history where society becomes so twisted and warped that only a few people benefit. We are living through one of those times. Consequently, allowing a system to break apart forces people to create a new framework. The more it gets destroyed, the more room we have to build something new in its place.

The people who run our planet are afraid, and they are attempting to make us afraid. If they put out the idea that we need their system in order to survive, we are much more likely to fight the change and keep them in power. This is what allowed the big banks to be bailed out in the market crash that occurred in 2008. "Too big to fail" was the motto. Indeed, people were very much afraid their own jobs would be on the line if they didn't allow our government to save the banks. If you don't already know it, this was all a big lie. Bailing the big banks out just enabled them to fund their continuing derivatives ponzi scheme and keep it going a little while longer.

The world has literally become one centralized power, where the needs of the few have been allowed to outweigh the needs of the many. Don't believe me? You don't have to take my word for it. Here is a study, based on mathematics and science, that proves everything has been consolidated into one interconnected and very powerful entity. The more this super-monster breaks down, the more power can be redistributed to the masses.

It is time to become the creators of our world. The de-construction of the planet's status quo is merely the opportunity to build something new in its place. We can begin by asking questions about what sort of changes can benefit the whole. As always, the answers reside in our hearts.

Acceptance

There are days when unpleasant realities are unavoidable. Today was one of those days. As much as I'd like to change certain circumstances in my own life, they are not mine to change. Tears set in as I saw and acknowledged the pain being experienced by myself and those around me because of the actions of others. The only thing I can do in this moment is accept the situation and move on.

We are taught in this reality that we can fix our problems. I believe that. What we can't fix is someone else. Their problems are theirs alone. It is ultimately their responsibility to work things out for themselves as they see fit, not as we see fit.

Quite often, we go about trying to fix our own problems by fixing someone else's. We try to force them into the same ways of doing things that help us solve our own problems. Then we get frustrated when they don't "get it".

I cannot force the people around me to change. What I can do is change myself. Acceptance is key to this process. I take off my rose-colored glasses and look at the reality of my situation. While it may not be pretty, there is much I can do with it. I can be there to support and love those who need my presence. I can live each moment, doing what I can to follow my heart and my bliss. My happiness is not dependent on the actions of others.

Flow comes when we don't try to force things. Trying to control others is a game we cannot hope to win because everyone has free will. The best we can do is try to be an example and hope that those we come into contact with are able to see a life well-lived and follow suit. Our lives become easier and more abundant when we learn to accept what IS instead of trying to change it.
