Living In The Question

It is human nature to search for answers. We want to understand what things are, how they came to be and how we fit into the into the grand scheme of things. The journey of growth and understanding begins with the question.

Small children instinctively know this. That is why they drive us crazy asking question after question as soon as they learn to speak! Their lives are full of exploring, experimenting and wondering why!

At some point in our adult lives, many of us stop asking questions. The reasons for this may vary, but suffice it to say that adults often believe they already know the answers! They have defined who and what they are and have become content in that knowledge. Anyone who tells them differently from what they believe is just plain wrong! What they don't understand is, this way of thinking is a trap!

Often, what we believe is truth is merely seeing an issue from one very limited perspective. Change the angle you look from and your "truth" can appear strangely different!!! Take a simple cylinder. If you stand beside the cylinder, you might perceive something that looks like a square or rectangle. However, if you happen to look at the cylinder from an end, you will perceive a circle! Is either perspective wrong? No, but you could waste a great deal of time arguing your point if you don't stop to ask yourself how someone else can see something so completely different!

Being willing to ask the question keeps you in a childlike state of wonder, opening your world to possibilities you would not otherwise know exist. True open mindedness is the willingness to believe something more or different could be possible! This is exactly what asking questions does. Questions keep you open to more!

It is the question that expands us. It is the question that helps us grow. It is the question that ultimately enables us to look beyond our established boundaries and into the infinite. The question contains great power. Are you courageous enough to ask the question and follow where it leads?

Your whole life can begin to change as you become willing to live in the question!!!
