History Is Written By the Bankers

I've heard it said that history is written by the victors. While I do believe those who win the battles get to put their slant on the events of the past, I'm going to take that notion one step farther. History has been written by the bankers (and that history does not contain a great deal of truth).

Let's take a look at some well-known bankers, the Rothschild family. It has been said that various members of this family have financed both sides of every war since at least the Napoleonic Wars. It's a great strategy if you think about it. Loan money to kings and leaders to finance the war machine. This allows them to purchase weapons and supplies from other businesses you own. You make money from both the debt and the products you supply.  Couple all that with the war intel you ultimately receive from those you are financing, and you can decide among yourselves who the winner of the war will be!

Let's look a little closer to home, to the illustrious Bush family. Prescott Bush, father of George Herbert Walker Bush, attended Yale and married well. His investment banker father in law, George Herbert Walker, set him up in the banking business as the the manager of the new Union Banking Corporation. This was largely built as a bank where German industrialist, Fritz Thyssen, could do business transactions in the US. Many of the companies this bank conducted business with (and Bush held shares in) were seized by the federal government under the Trading With the Enemy Act because they supplied Hitler and the Nazis during WWII. You can read a much more detailed account of the whole affair in The Guardian. The point is, here is an American banker in bed with the enemy. How in the world did he end up becoming a senator after that? History is not what it seems to be.

History is written in a way that shows the cold hard facts. This army beat that army. Decisive naval battles played out here and there. There is usually some sort of justification by the winner as to why they were fighting in the first place and how they won. Kings and politicians are placed in the spotlight, but usually no one looks very closely at those behind the scenes that actually profit from these sorts of events.

History has been written by the bankers far too long. It is time to remedy the situation by shining a spotlight on this part of society. As long as we allow ourselves to be manipulated and distracted by such power brokers, we will remain their slaves. It is time to wake up. It is time for us to begin writing our own history.
