What Appears To Be The End Is Merely The Beginning...

I find myself in an usual place in life right now and have been doing my best to process it. My husband of ten years--the person who helped me finish raising my children and has been a partner in my own personal growth--was recently diagnosed as being in the early stages of dementia. He is 58. I am 51. This is not something a person anticipates or plans for, especially at these relatively young ages.

Lately, most of my days are struggles as I flounder wildly about just trying to keep my head above water. Fear and sadness close in on me when I focus too closely on what my life could become in the future. I worry about the potential expenses involved in taking care of someone in the latter stages of this condition--especially considering I still need to work fulltime. I worry about taking care of myself as I realize I have become dependent on him in so many ways. The only thing that saves me is focusing on the moment at hand, trying to make things as pleasant for myself and those around me as I am able. What actions can I take in the present that will bring me joy? Love? Peace?

My daily meditation time has become my refuge in the storm. Because of my high stress levels, I am much more focused and able to hear the whispers of my guardians/angels as they speak to me, reassuring me they are here to help. They encourage me to ask for what I want. They tell me to trust and that when I can do this I will be amazed at how quickly things begin to fall into place.

The irony of this situation is that I have been praying this past year for BIG changes to come into my life. I spent years hiding in the safety of my cocoon and have only recently made the conscious decision to stop playing small and use my gifts for the benefit of myself and others. Never in my wildest dreams did I anticipate something like this.

I have no real clue what my path looks like. I can see a destination--helping others heal from their life traumas while restoring balance and reducing separation, but the road is not nicely laid out in front of me. I have enough experience in life to know that what my mind sees is not the best or easiest way to get there. Life works by listening to God/Source and taking things one step at a time. At present, that is all I have the strength to do.

My life is currently in destruction mode. Ironically, the whole world is in destruction mode. We fight against the chaos and confusion because it seems as though everything we know and rely on is going to be lost. It's true. It IS going to be lost. What most of us fail to recognize is that sometimes our worlds need to fall apart in order to create something infinitely better.

Life is not at an end. We are being prepared for a new creation. Hold tight to that vision of your ideal future. It is coming.

Goal Setting And Living In The Now

I have always been a goal setter. I tend to daydream big dreams. Then I think up possible ways to get there. The problem with that approach is that life has a tendency to get in the way. Nothing ever turns out the way I have planned it. Somehow, I do arrive at my destination, just not the way I wanted to. Ironically, I usually get there kicking and screaming and don't even realize it until I have been at the destination for a while!

It has dawned on me lately that I am not often focused on living in the present moment. I am so caught up in my future plans that I don't appreciate what I am doing in the here and now. The worst part is, living in the future also leads to a great deal of unnecessary worry. Worst case scenarios have a tendency to pop up, limiting your enjoyment of what is happening in the present moment and stealing your joy.

As of today, I am going to attempt to not plan. What? Not plan? Not anticipate? How in the world will I get things done? How will my goals be accomplished? The answer is simple: I am going to allow my heart to do the planning. I am going to allow my heart to guide me! (Novel idea, huh, as that is the whole goal of this blog!)

The plan is simple enough. I'm going to make a list of things I would like to accomplish in future. Then I'll to fold it up and put it someplace I will be able to access it periodically (but not necessarily front and center). Once that is accomplished, I am going to do my best to forget about the list and live each moment in the here and now. The goal will be to follow the guidance and wisdom that comes from my heart!

There is a method to my madness. Making the list will set the intention. God/Source and my higher self know the best way to get there. By living in the now and accessing God and my higher self through my heart connection, they will guide me by showing me what will make me happy and bring me joy in the present moment. I do not need to think (key word) about the future. As all time (past, present and future) exists where God and my higher self are, accessing their wisdom should yield results.

I do plan to access my list occasionally--hopefully not more than once a month or so because I don't want to dwell on it too much. The goal here is to observe whether or not I have made any noticeable progress.

I am not going to detail my list here, other than to say that one of my main goals is transitioning to a place where I no longer need to work part-time for someone else as I have all the resources I need working for myself. These lists are meant to be personal. You need not feel pressure to reveal your goals to anyone else unless you want someone else to witness your transformation.

As a planet, we are in a heavy growth phase. Chaos seems to reign supreme as we transfer our awareness to growth and new ways of doing things. The shift we are making involves learning to live in the now and following the wisdom that comes from communion with God and our higher selves through connection with our hearts. This method of goal setting is designed to help people stay focused on heart-based living. Join me? Together we can change the course of the entire planet! I would love to hear your thoughts in the comments below!!!

The Will Of God IS Your Will

I'm going to share a little secret with you today: the will of God/Source IS your will!

In many cultures, we have been programmed to believe that God/Source is something separate from ourselves. He is also all-knowing and all-powerful. Consequently, God knows what is best for each and every one of us and it is important to defer to his infinite wisdom in all situations. Many of us are all too willing to leave the planning all up to him (and consequently to those who desire our power for their own use).

The thing is, we are not separate from God. God/Source is in us and through us as we are in him. It is illusion that keeps us thinking and believing we are separate entities unto ourselves! The thought that we are separate has been given to us so we willingly give up our own innate power and allow it to be used by others who crave power.

Religion is a funny thing. It was instituted to keep We the People separate from Source and consequently under control through focusing our attention on something "higher" than themselves. The irony is, there are times when believers are able to drop the barriers that separate them long enough to discover their true connection to God! Remembering this God connection is what makes them come back to the religion that was designed to keep them away from God!!! This was definitely not the outcome the controllers wanted!!!

Now, back to the will of God/Source being your will. Sit back for a few minutes and focus on your heart. Do you feel its strength and power radiating out to the world around you? Can you feel its energetic connections?

Ask yourself the following questions. Are you connected to the world around you? Are you connected to God/Source? What are those things you can do in this moment that bring you joy and make you happy? Are those things separate from God? Do those things draw you closer to your Source or farther away from it?

If you are in God and God is in you, your will and the will of God are ONE. Understand that by following your heart--the place where that connection lives--you are following the will of the One.

You Are Supported!!!

Do you ever feel as though you're alone in the Universe? Does it ever feel that everything is all up to you and  you can't rely on anyone but yourself? I'm here to tell you that your separateness is a lie!!! You are not some stand alone entity--a small drop in a vast cosmic ocean! The reality is, you are part of a great connectedness that is always there for you and always has your back!

My father was an over-the-road truck driver for a number of years. At some point in his journeys, he was in a major metropolitan area when a lady merging onto the interstate ran into the side of his trailer. He knew he had not moved over--that she was the one who had switched lanes. She, of course, decided to sue my father and the trucking company he worked for, which usually results in major money for the car driver.

My father is a good man who happens to hold the belief that God has his back. Close to the time my father's case was set to go to trial, his lawyer caught a break. While he was in the court house on another case, he noticed the day's court docket (the cases coming up that day). On it, he saw the name of the woman that was suing my father! Apparently, she was in court suing someone else!!! The attorney did some digging on the accident victim and discovered she had also been involved in many more accident cases where she had sued and been awarded lots of money. On the day of my dad's trial, his lawyer was able to present this background information and the case against my father was dismissed!!!

My father believed that things happen for a reason and things work out. He felt connected to his Source--connected to the Divine, and he was secure in the understanding that he was being taken care of. When you hold such a belief, you release blocks and allow your life to flow. This is where the magic happens!!!

Understand that when you allow yourself to connect and live in that connection, you are supported. The Universe does indeed have your back! Trust in the Divine plan for your life--the plan we have all worked together to create. All the details will work out better than you can even imagine when you allow yourself to trust that things will materialize in a way that makes everything work in harmony.

You are supported! Trust the flow!!!

The Importance Of Dreams

Dreams are funny things. They contain seemingly random people and events that make absolutely no sense (and quite often openly flout the laws of nature). They leave us confused and asking how we came up with such strange thoughts in our sleep. Why do we have dreams and why are they important? Dreams are our sleeptime connection to God/Source.

Even though we don't always understand dreams, they are very important to the human psyche. People who don't go through regular sleep/dream cycles begin to have mental breakdowns. Dreams are our subconscious way of working through issues and problems that occur in our daily lives. Quite often we receive insights at some level. In our sleep we are not burdened by the confines of our day to day world so our hearts are more free to explore the unlimited knowledge that is Oneness.

There are times when we have dreams we just "know" are prophetic. Typically, these dreams are knowledge that is so important for us to have they come through in our sleep. If you are awake and aware in other ways, these sorts of dreams will back up what your conscious heart connection is already telling you.

Understand that dreams are there to make sure all of us have some connection to God/Source, whether we consciously seek it or not. Pay attention to those dreams you remember. Chances are they will reveal information that could change your life!

The Problem With Plans

I have a problem. I never realized what a big problem it was until just this minute. I am a planner. I decide on a destination and look down the road as far as I can see. From that point, I plot my moves as strategically as possible with the information available to me. Then I try and take what actions I deem necessary to move me in the desired direction. Why is this a problem, you ask? Because I am planning with my mind instead of my heart!

My mind has very limited information. It is based on what society has taught me is "appropriate" and what my experience tells me works. No matter how much I plan or how many contingencies I plan for, what my head understands will always be vulnerable to variables I know nothing about.

To add insult to injury, I judge myself in this moment of now when my plans don't work out. Quite often my plans involve goals and little things I should be accomplishing along the way. I have a tendency to be very hard on myself when things don't work out as I believe they should.

The Universe often has a good laugh over our plans. There are many occasions where I have been told things are going to happen in advance (aka destination). At that point, I will make my plans on how I am going to get there. Consequently, none of my plans ever seem to work, but somehow I find myself at the destination anyway!!!

The thing about plans is this: there is ultimately a BIG plan. It's something we have helped co-create with our fellow beings to help us learn and grow and live together as One. Subconsciously we work on it all the time because our subconscious is tuned into our connection to Source through our hearts. It is only when we bring this heart connection into our awareness that we begin to understand our heart plans--the BIG plan.

Plans themselves really aren't the problem. The problem is what you use to make your plans: your head or your heart. Once we begin to go with the plans in our hearts, we discover how much more easily the circumstances of our lives work out. We begin to live in the flow we are ultimately destined to live in.

Focus On Connection

This morning I feel like I am sitting on a powder keg. Right now, everything seems calm and relatively normal. However, it feels like it would only take one little match to set everything off in flames. It is for this reason I would urge you to focus on your own personal connection to God/Source today and in the days that follow.

Take the time to get out in your environment. Feel the earth under your feet. Get a sense of the rocks, and trees, and water, and everything in your environment. If you happen to be in a city, take the time to sense the buildings, the street, the cars and people. Allow yourself to be very aware of what goes on around you. Be intentional about it.

As you begin to sense individual things, allow yourself to focus on the energetic interactions between yourself and whatever object you are focusing on. Feel the connection and interaction between it and yourself. Ask if there is anything important you need to understand.

At times of great change, it is important to understand your connections to all things in order to gain the wisdom and insight those connections hold. When you feel your connection, you are able to see solutions where many people can only see the problem. You become the answer.

Problems are only problems when you don't have solutions. Remain connected to God/Source and you will have the answers you need.

The Problem With Expectations

I am a planner. I like to have a goal to work toward. I like to know where I'm going. I even go to the extreme of trying to anticipate and plan for various problems and contingencies to occur because I just don't like being unprepared. The thing is, planning often comes with expectations, and expectations can be a problem.

In my experience, there are two main problems with having expectations. The first is that expectations are often the results of our programming and are often not realistic. For example, here in the US we are told it is important to finish high school, get a college degree, and often get a graduate degree in order to get a good paying job. People are willing to spend boatloads of money on getting these fancy pieces of paper qualifying them for fancy jobs, only to discover there are no fancy jobs available. Meanwhile, the interest accrues on student loans they don't have the ability to repay and cannot declare bankruptcy on. There will always be problems when we look to expectations that originate outside ourselves because we are not following the guidance and wisdom of our hearts.

The other problem with expectations is this: when you expect things to happen in a certain way, you limit what God/Source and the Universe can bestow on you. These expectations literally become blocks that keep you from receiving the blessings that are meant for you! The Universe is infinite and flexible, but when you have expectations you have guidelines the Universe must follow.

When you live in flow, you live in complete trust that God/Source knows exactly what is best for you and has your back. Picture it as canoeing down a river with God literally in your boat. You have never been to this river, so you don't know exactly what direction it will take you in. However, you trust the journey because the river knows its course and you have the benefit of having a knowledgeable navigator with you.

We are entering new and nontraditional waters. Recognize the importance of leaving expectations behind as we follow this new course. Creating our new and beautiful world will be much easier when we allow the Universe to show us the possibilities that exist outside our present understandings.
