Prayer Of Release

Divine Father/Mother/Creator/Intelligence/Source Energy,

I come to you, laying all my pain, all my sadness, all my anger, all my stress, all my worry, all my hate, all my jealousies, all my selfishness, all my problems at your feet. I know that keeping all these things close to my heart only perpetuates the problems to the point of overwhelm. Holding them captive for a period of time does not serve my body, my mind, my spirit or my heart.

In this moment of now, I choose to release all of these things that no longer serve me. I choose to stop holding them captive, allowing them to move freely in and out of my life as necessary to draw my attention to all that is important to understand. I know they are there to help guide me in that stage of my development, and I am grateful for all those things they are designed to help me discover about myself and the world.

In this release, I know I am making room for all the love, all the joy, all the peace, all the understanding, all the intuition I have already been gifted with. I allow myself to access these gifts and in this way increase my productivity and abundance.

As I draw closer to your infinite love and wisdom, I let go of my ego and my separate self. I am One with all things. I follow the wisdom and guidance found in my heart and allow myself to move within the flow of the One in order to BE my perfect and infinite self.

Thank you for gifting me with these experiences so I am able to learn and grow in new ways and BE One with you again.

Tools For Quieting The Mind

As we begin the New Year, I am reminded there are many who are still searching for meditation methods that work for them. One of the most important aspects of meditation is quieting the mind in order to hear the thoughts and ideas that come from the Void that is Source energy. In today's world, information comes at us at such a rapid rate it can be difficult to close ourselves off from that extraneous noise. Here are a few of the tools I use to help myself unplug from the thoughts of the world and quiet my mind!

Tools For Quieting The Mind:
  1. Exercise. While this may sound strange, exercise is one of my go-to's when it comes to quieting the mind. Whether you are into stretching, cardio, or muscle building, exercise is a great way to relieve stress and tension. The repetitive motions help synchronize the two hemispheres of your brain and make it go into an alpha brainwave state, which puts you in a calm, relaxed frame of mind.
  2. Music. Calm, soothing music--especially music you are familiar with and enjoy--can also bring the brain into synchronization and create brainwave states that relax and help clear your mind. If you are musical, singing or playing a musical instrument can also help.
  3. Hobbies. Whether you are artistic, like to cook, restore old cars or enjoy solving math problems, spending time in a hobby relieves stress and brings happiness and enjoyment that helps calm your brain.
  4. Making Lists. Sometimes, writing down a list of all the things  you need to do or even a list of your problems frees up your mind. Many occasions, your mind continues to dwell on stressors so that you will not forget to take care of them. This is why you can't seem to get things out of your head. When you make a concrete list, you give your brain the internal signal that it no longer needs to remember because you have a written reminder to use later.
  5. Visualization. If you are a visual and imaginative person, you can use your imagination to visualize emptying your mind. For example, imagine a ball of light or an angel beside you. Picture this light being siphoning off all the dark, negative energy inside you. You could also picture your spiritual mentor (like Jesus or Buddha) standing beside you, accepting all your problems and burdens and offering to take them away from you. Understand that any scenario you come up with that helps relieve your mind of its problems is what you need to work toward.
There are many things you can do to quiet you mind and make it easier to connect directly to Source energy. Allow yourself the time you need to take care of self and quieting the mind becomes much easier.

Purging And Releasing

I've noticed some extremely interesting shifts going on in my personal life lately. They seem to cover the gamut of my life--friends, religion/belief system, even social media. Pretty much everything is represented in the turmoil. As the emotions come up, I am allowing myself some time to sit with them, and I question why they are appearing. So far, the answers have been surprising.

For example, several friends whom I have been close to in the past seem to be much more distant lately. Granted, we all lead pretty busy lives, but this appears to be more than that. For the most part, I don't perceive that it is personal, but I am feeling as though they are supposed to have diminished roles in my present life. I am allowing that to happen with the understanding that those I need (and who need me) will show up for me at the appropriate times. While I am allowing myself to be open to the return of these friends, whether or not that happens remains to be seen.

I've been much better at defining and vocalizing my spiritual beliefs lately. As this happens, I notice bits and pieces of my former beliefs purging themselves from my consciousness. They served me well at certain points in my life and I am thankful they were there. However, I am becoming aware of new understandings beginning to take up residence in all those empty spaces.

The things going on with social media are perhaps the most intriguing. I am becoming more aware of the various energies carried by friends I know in real life and those I only know through the internet. I am sensing both the light and darkness emanating from various ones and using some caution with what I absorb and what I discard. Discernment. I'm in a place where I'm really not discarding anyone or the information they present. I am becoming aware of the need to consult my heart and the Oneness therein for understanding. Increasingly, asking my heart first is becoming habit.

That's really what all the purging and releasing has been all about lately--becoming more aware of the heart connection within and following that instead of the usual mind/experience/programming approach. We are in the middle of figuring out who to follow, with the inevitable understanding that we ourselves are our own best guides.

We will continue to purge and release until it is natural for us to live from a heart-based consciousness. The shift is not an easy one, but it is necessary if we want to change life on planet Earth for the better.
