The Problem With Our Country Today

I came across a post about a Presidential candidate that disturbed me even though I like this particular candidate. It read, "Why am I so passionate about __________________? Because we may never get another chance like this to save democracy in America." Why am I disturbed by this? I am disturbed because, once again, we are failing to take responsibility for our own lives and save ourselves.

Has any President ever saved us? In the past, many people looked to President John F. Kennedy as a leader. I do believe he was a great leader. He led us through some very troubling times, including the Civil Rights Movement. I also believe he stood up to the bankers (which was a large part of why he was killed). Still, for all that, he was just one man. He was able to inspire thousands of people, which is an important ingredient in change.

A lot of people think Ronald Reagan was a good President. I never liked him, nor did I like his Vice President, George H W Bush. I thought people were stupid to vote for the guy because he had been a movie star. It ticked me off that he got credit for the collapse of the Soviet Union. Yes, the economy seemed to thrive under his watch. Presidents don't make or break economies though. Bankers do. (Sometimes I feel like I'm the only one who understands that!) 

My husband has been busy blaming every bad thing that has happened in this country on Obama. I know a good many people who do. Again, Presidents do not make or break economies. It is those with all the money and power that callously decide whose hands the money goes into. Obama can only do so much. The rest is up to us.

Most of us have no desire to be in charge. While I don't see that as a problem, it goes much deeper than that with many of us. We can't even take responsibility for how we live our own lives. Instead of listening to that voice inside that tells us this is what we should do and this is what we shouldn't do, we have become dependent on a set of external rules that defines how we should live. Rules are not bad in and of themselves, but one size does not fit all. This is where the lines between rules get fuzzy. If you get too specific and regulate everything to the nth degree, freedom suffers. 

When life is pleasant for us for a number of years, we have a tendency to become apathetic and lazy. We sit back and live off the fat of the land and forget that we play a role in creating our world. It isn't until much later, when things have gotten really difficult, that we begin to see the need to change.

While we slept, we allowed those in charge to take advantage of us. Many of us will continue to find a scapegoat to blame, but until we understand the world will not change until we do, all the blame in the world will not make it better. One man or woman running for President will not make the United States a better place to live. It will become a better place when each one of us stands up and takes an active role in creating a better world.

Why Workshops And Motivational Speeches Fail

Have you ever taken a brilliant workshop or listened to a motivational speech, only to find yourself inspired for a few weeks and then back to your old uninspired rut shortly thereafter? Maybe you've come to the conclusion that the wisdom imparted was not as earth-shattering as it first appeared? It is not the messenger or the message that is at fault. It is the way you choose to incorporate that message into your life. Yes! I'm blaming you! It is you and the way you think that gets in the way!!!

There is a reason we get so excited about the workshop or presentation. It is great information! It's stimulating. It's exciting. It's insightful. While the presenter may not have the perfect life, he/she has attained a life of living in flow that is empowered. Most of these people are indeed living the life they are talking about and it shows.

Why do we fail to incorporate the information into our lives on a more consistent basis? We fail because of the way we process the information. Most of us operate from what I like to call thinking with the mind. This way of thinking looks at the information presented and tries to find concrete actions we can copy and incorporate into our lives. What we fail to consider is how the information ties more directly into the emotions and feelings that are what we use when we think through the heart.

Thinking through the heart is letting go of the constructs the mind has built around you and allowing the infinite wisdom and knowledge of Source energy to come directly to you. It is fully feeling, nonjudgmental, and free flowing. Thinking through the heart is operating in this moment of now, understanding that everything that comes to you is what you need in this moment. You are at your most powerful and divine self when you think from the heart.

While you are in the workshop or motivational speech, you are operating from the level of the heart because the presenter is coming from the level of the heart. You feel his/her energy, his/her passion. Then you go back to your everyday life, where you are thinking through the mind. You find yourself going back to the old programmed habits and patterns you are used to functioning in. Before you know it, you are back in your own boring and unfulfilling life once again.

When you finally come to the place where you are functioning consistently from the level of the heart, every experience you have becomes your teacher. Workshops and motivational speeches become part of who you are at their fullest levels. You are fully open to the abundance and blessings the Universe has to offer. You become the creator of your own life.

The Choice

There comes a point in our lives when we all have to make a choice. That choice is to follow the way of the mind or the way of the heart. While neither choice is good or bad in and of itself, they involve two very different ways of functioning--two different ways of BEing. That said, the outcomes of both ways of existence are very different.

The way of the mind is living within your programming. You are born with specific genetic birth parents, which determines certain characteristics about you. You are then raised in a family or tribe that places you within certain parameters.. These parameters separate and divide us from each other and include things like culture, religion, country, gender, etc. As we grow up, we are taught the boundaries and limitations of each parameter, which shapes the way we think and act. Quite often, we learn to identify ourselves by these parameters. We also use those parameters to identify and classify others. While we function in the present, living through the mind can also encompass visiting the past and future as well. Many of us are quite happy living within these frameworks of separation.

The way of the heart is living through a natural and internal guidance system which is accessed through the heart. Instead of being shaped by outside forces, it gains wisdom and understanding by connecting to all things through an internal source. It is nonjudgmental, basing its choices on instruction coming directly from this heart connection where all wisdom and knowledge exists. The heart functions in the now, but is not dependent on time. Past, present, and future exist simultaneously within the heart, even while living in the moment. It is a very different way of thinking--a very different way of BEing. It is a state of living in flow. While we sometimes are able to exist within this space, for most of us the instances are rare.

At some point in life we encounter situations that make us question all those values we have been taught within the framework of the mind. These are choice points. They are experiences where you can BEcome something different than what you have always known. They usually occur when something out of the ordinary happens--job loss, death, illness, etc.--although they can happen at less pivotal times as well. The point is, you have come to a place in your life where you are jolted into the realization that your mind programming does not fit the situation comfortably. Most of us are so ingrained with our mind programs that we continue to look for (and find) solutions that come from that way of thinking. Understand that we when find solutions by thinking with the mind, the problem will eventually come back. It may come back in slightly different form, but it always comes back.

The choice is about making the transition from living through the mind to living through the heart. It is not an easy transition as, for most of us, it means letting go of what we think we know. Still, the more we can learn to think and act from the heart, the more we will begin to make decisions based on what is good for the collective instead of our separate selves. We are able to find our place in flow. We are empowered to live in abundance and blessing. We become examples to show others the way.

How YOU Can Make A Difference In The Political Process!

I've been seeing a great deal of hoopla in support of US Presidential candidate Bernie Sanders. I have to confess, he is my favorite candidate running, mainly because he is the only candidate I see that seems to have a heart for people. I don't see his financial propositions working within the monetary system we currently have. Then again, I can't stand the monetary system we currently have because it has become extremely warped. To me, arguing about the details of his financial propositions is counterintuitive in a world many of us desire to re-create anyway.

That said, the powers that be don't like Bernie. It is extremely apparent (at least it is to me) he is a threat to the status quo. Consequently, the behind-the-scenes powers are working extra hard to give their candidate Hillary the Democratic party's nomination. The thing is, if enough people feel that strongly about him as President, we do have the power to change the outcome. It will require effort on our part.

First of all, the powers that be will do anything and everything they can do make sure Hillary at least has the illusion of more support of the people. This includes lying, cheating and stealing. There will be and have already been crazy shenanigans with miscounts in caucus precincts. There is absolutely no accountability when it comes to black box computer voting because of "proprietary" software rights. If we can't openly go through every line of computer code used to tabulate votes, we cannot allow those computers to be used. Period. We need to literally stand over every proceeding, every caucus, every vote and hold those in charge accountable and responsible for everything that happens. We need to count and recount. We need to make sure paper ballots are not misplaced or relocated.

It is even more important to participate in local and state level delegate nominating events. First, we need to arm ourselves with information about the legal proceedings in our states. Attend these meetings as a registered party member. Again, watch the proceedings like a hawk and know what is supposed to happen. Work within their rules and make sure party leaders do as well. County and state delegate meetings are where the real SHTF!!! They elect those representatives who ultimately become delegates to the national convention. Bear in mind that many of these delegates will be slated for a particular candidate. A few of them will be at-large and are free to vote their will. Understand that the leaders of your state Democratic party will attempt to make sure these at-large delegates are Hillary fans. Also keep in mind that, depending on how the convention plays out, it may be possible for delegates to be released from voting for the candidate they were chosen to represent.

The real fun comes in when you have a brokered convention, which is much more likely in this Presidential election because We the People are angry. While delegates are slated to cast their vote for the people they are there to represent, there are events that can happen during the proceedings which then allow these same delegates to vote their conscience. That said, party leaders will do everything in their power to not let it come down to that. Again, know rules of procedure. Do not allow party leaders to control what people can and cannot say at the convention, especially when the rules allow for such speech. Understand that if the delegates are strong enough to stand up to party leaders, they have the power to rein in the nomination process. If party leaders refuse to follow the rules and choose Hillary anyway, this is when delegates will be forced to stand up and explain the lies so that We the People are no longer fooled.

We can no longer afford to just sit back in apathy as present-day leaders continue to steal our power! It is time to be aware. It is time to supervise proceedings to ensure fairness and honesty. It is time to stand up and take our power back! By working together, we can make a difference in our political process!

Supplying The Contrast

It never ceases to amaze me how many people cling to their politics--particularly spiritual people. If you mention anything that goes against what they believe and/or is something they don't want to hear they immediately react and have to argue why you're wrong. I have to confess, there are times when I rise to the bait even though I know better. Politics consistently supply the contrast we came to discover in this world of duality.

What does supplying the contrast mean exactly? Contrast is the play and pull between two seemingly different or even opposite things. Supplying the contrast means encountering a situation that places something new or different directly in our path. We then use these encounters to learn and grow. At least, that is the ultimate goal of the contrast.

We don't always choose to learn. On many occasions the contrast is so disturbing for us that we first get angry and then we shut down. We deny there is anything new for us to learn--we know it all and there is nothing here left to see. Of course, that is far from the truth. Anything that sets us off in such an extreme way is a valuable clue we have an issue that needs to be resolved.

My personal belief is that we come to this three-dimensional world to study this contrast and learn from it. We come from a place I like to call Oneness, where we are all connected and everything works together for the good of the whole. Because duality was created by separating out individual things (darkness from light, heavens from water, plants from animals from people, etc.) we are able to look at these pieces in new and interesting ways.

We have made the contrasts about separation itself. We look at those people and things that are different from us, and we push them away. It is too scary to accept those things we do not know and understand. The irony is, when we take the time to try to understand something different from ourselves, we end up learning that, deep down, we are truly one and the same.

The next time you encounter something you vehemently feel is wrong, sit back and ask yourself why you feel this way. Explore it. Ask different questions about it. Learn why it is important to someone else. You may just gain a whole new way of thinking that will expand and grow who you are in the world.

The Way Politics Work

Just four short years ago, I was excited by Ron Paul's run for President. I liked his stand on military (protecting Americans on US shores as opposed to policing the world). I applauded his desire for less government regulation and intervention. I supported his mistrust of the Federal Reserve Bank and our unconstitutional monetary system. I appreciated Ron Paul so much I decided to try to help his cause in my state after the Presidential primary. I volunteered as a Ron Paul supporter and I registered as a Republican so I could participate in my county's process to select delegates to the state and national Republican conventions.

The organizing paid off extremely well in my populated Georgia county. The Ron Paul leaders managed to seat Ron Paul representatives in controlling positions in almost every precinct in my county. The majority of the people who showed up were Ron Paul supporters, as evidenced by a show of hands for various candidates. It was obvious to everyone there that the Republican leadership had lost control as their county was taken over by people who didn't support the traditional Republican party line. We the People were rising!

Over the next few months this organization paid off so well that Ron Paul was well-represented throughout the United States at the Republican  convention. It was at this point Republican leadership began scrambling to change rules in order to ensure that Ron Paul would not get the nomination. They replaced Ron Paul delegates with Romney delegates. They confiscated all Ron Paul signage. They refused to let Ron Paul talk live at the convention at all unless he agreed to endorse Mitt Romney. It had absolutely nothing to do with giving We the People a real voice in the process. It was all about making a show of putting their puppet nominee in the position for which he had already been chosen.

I've been pissing a lot of people off on social media lately because I have been talking about my belief that the system is all for show--that the candidates they want us to think we've chosen have already been selected by them. Even if there is a lot of grassroots enthusiasm for a particular candidate (like Bernie Sanders), I'm convinced it won't matter. Our so-called leaders will do what must be done to make sure their puppets are nominated. Just like they did to Ron Paul.

The fact of the matter is, we get spoon-fed a pile of political BS every day. Vast quantities have been served to us for so long that we're now convinced it's chocolate cake. Make no mistake. It's still horse manure. We're just so accustomed to the smell it has become tolerable and even desirable!

I'm calling it for what it is! Elephant (or donkey) shit!!! You can tell me it's a fair vote. You can tell me it's what We the People decided. I'm going to tell you that you've ingested way too much fluoride!

It's time to get your heads out of your butts and wake up to the real world!!! The real world is not pretty! It is corrupt. Parts of it are vastly evil (and I don't use that word lightly). It is a world where they pit us against each other like dogs in a fighting ring, partially for the entertainment value and partially so we want to really kill each other. It will not work for us if we fail to recognize the problems for what they are and correct them.

It takes all of us standing up and BEing responsible. It takes all of us coming together and demanding change. I requires us to work together to create positive new structures that are capable of sustaining us and renewing us all.

Politics today are a show created so people believe they have some control over what happens to them. Understand that true power still resides with We the People. We just need to stand back up and reclaim it. 

I found this link since I first published this post, and it is an extremely good explanation of how the delegate choosing process works and why it is so important to who gets the nomination. I don't agree with their take that Ron Paul supporters were overtaking the will of the people. We may have been working smarter than the general voter population, but in the end it just didn't matter as party leaders manipulated the circumstances (and rules) to get their way.

Not My Usual Post

When I set out (just a little over a year ago now) to create a new blog, it was my intention to try to help people learn to connect to their own hearts in order to empower them and create a better world. (Connect...Empower...Create). I also had a personal goal of trying to discipline my writing so that I was writing a little something every day instead of just every once in a while. (I have a tendency to be very much a free spirit in my personal life and abhor routine.)

Although I don't feel as I have made as much progress on a global level as I would have liked, I do believe I have made people question life as they know it. Questions are the first step to change because they inevitably allow you to see things from a different perspective. I will continue to plug away, little by little.

My personal goal of writing every day has been accomplished and is firmly ingrained in me at this point in time. I have managed to write at least one post every day for a full year. There were many days I struggled. There were days I'm sure the subject matter was flighty or uninspiring. Still, I have proven to myself that I can do it.

I may not write here quite as frequently as I have this past year. I have a couple of big book projects I want to spend my time on now that I am writing daily. That doesn't mean I am not thinking about you or not here for you. You can always contact me through this blog or on my Facebook page if you have any questions. The door is open.
