Getting To Know Your Angels

Did you know you have angels who are assigned to you personally? (Yes, you are just that special!) Their jobs are to help you accomplish your goals and mission in life. They prompt you to take certain actions through thoughts or "coincidences". They keep you out of harms way if that is not part of your life's plan. They even provide physical things you need, although you might not consider your angels were the ones who brought them. You can get to know your angels personally, although for the vast majority of us the process takes time and focus.

I became aware of my angels, particularly the one I consider my angel-in-charge, by connecting to my heart space and becoming aware of energies that surround me. I had recently learned the process and I was guiding my sister through the technique. When we were both connected, I just sat there and focused on feeling the energies around me. I felt a presence a foot or two behind myself, sort of off to my right side. Interestingly enough, I felt a similar presence behind my sister but I knew that was her angel and I didn't need to concern myself with him. This is was my first acknowledgement of the presence of my personal guardian.

The whole experience intrigued me to the point where I began to seek more information about what happened. I was able to describe the experience to a very gifted intuitive, and she helped me determine more exactly what had happened. She also gave me suggestions for what to pay attention to--specifics like did it feel safe and where did those knowing feelings occurr in my own body. (Different people will get intuitive feelings/information in different locations in their bodies. Most of mine occur in my stomach and solar plexus areas, but they can even occur in something like your arm or your big toe. Don't judge them!)

I began to take time daily to get in touch with this particular angel. One of my favorite times of day was at work. At the time I was still working as a daycare teacher and I had a class of two year olds that took naps every day just after lunch. The two hour period where they slept gave me a large portion of time to get quiet and get connected. I found myself talking to my angel a lot during this time. As I didn't have a name for him, my offbeat sense of humor began referring to him as "Bob". Every time I used that name, I could feel my angel laughing. (Yes, they can have a sense of humor!) After a while of referring to him as "Bob", I heard a soft voice in my head. "My name is Saul." I was quite surprised by that. For some reason I never thought to ask for a real name.

Over time, I got out of the habit of talking to Saul, although I know he is still with me. I have once again made time to become aware of his specific presence just so I can hear his voice and advice a little more clearly.

You can get to know the presence and voice of your own angel/angels. It is simply a question of connecting to your heart and allowing yourself to become aware of the energies around you. Pay attention to feelings of safety or harm because all the energies around you are not necessarily helpful. The more familiar you become with various energies, the more you can learn about the spiritual realm.

Asking For Divine Intervention

There are times when we feel we are following the guidance and wisdom in our hearts but appear to be running into a brick wall. Results seem negligible at best, and we begin to question whether or not we are really on task with our life's purpose. It is at these times we need to be more conscious and aware of possible negative energies interfering with our goals. It is important to be intentional about asking for divine help and protection.

  1. Envision protection around your physical and spiritual bodies. Picture a barrier around your body that is impervious to anything negative while still allowing the positive through. Imagine your personal angels surrounding you, in battle armor if that makes you feel more safe.
  2. While being centered in your heart, ask for and picture yourself drawing in more positive strength and energy. Feel and see your protective shield gaining more strength and power. Allow yourself to draw on all the strength and power the One can supply!
  3. Call upon assistance from your personal guardian angels. This is one of their primary tasks but it can still be important to make the request. Depending on the occasion, there are times when they are not allowed to intervene unless you specifically ask them to. They are also very eager to provide useful information that can keep you away from harm. Get to know their energies and you can learn to communicate with them!
  4. Ask for assistance from the archangels. These are the beings tasked with spiritual protection and healing of the whole. Ask for their intervention specifically and they will call in as much help and the exact sort of help you need to deal with your problem. As they are not limited to a particular time or space, archangels are can help anyone and everyone who asks for their assistance without neglecting a soul.
We all feel worn down and vulnerable from time to time. Understand you are not alone and have the right and ability to ask for extra protection at those times when you cannot do it on your own. Divine intervention is there at a moment's notice anytime you need it. Take advantage of these powerful tools to assist you on your journey.

Heavenly Intervention

In the course of our life plans, there are times we get stuck on where to go or what to do. Being in a certain place during a certain time our lives is extremely important to helping us fulfill our overall life missions. It is on these occasions divine intervention can come in handy. Even helping us find jobs can be the work of our angels!

In one of the daycare centers I worked at, I had a coworker with an interesting story. I had worked with her quite a while before she told me how she came to be employed there. She had just moved to town with her boyfriend and was scouring the newspaper for job listings. She saw an ad for a job as a daycare teacher and called. She got the details of what the job involved, then after she got off the phone she realized she had not gotten directions to the center. She called back. The next day when she went to go fill out the application, she was asked how she came to apply there. She responded that she had seen our ad in the newspaper. The office manager gave her a very strange look and said, "We didn't have an ad in the paper." What got me was the fact that she had called the number she found in the paper not once but TWICE and apparently got the same (heavenly?) operator!

Another friend of mine had a social work degree in rural Iowa. Jobs can be extremely hard to come by in Iowa, even when the country is not in recession/depression. One day when she was looking for work, she got a call from her husband. He said he had just heard a nearby hospital had a social work opening and she needed to call this particular man at this particular place. He even helpfully gave her the phone number to call. She called and asked about the job and mentioned her qualifications. The man she talked to then said, "We do have a job opening, but how did you know? I've only just told my secretary about it and nobody else knew!" She then mentioned her husband had told her and even gave her the information. The man was surprised but scheduled the interview right then and there. Later that evening, she asked her husband how he had found out about the job opening. He gave her a funny look and asked what she was talking about. She reminded him he had called and given her the information. He then told her he had not called and had no idea who did! Consequently, she did end up with the job, and she never forgot the divine intervention that helped her land it!

There are times in our lives where it is important to our soul purpose to be at in a place we can be of service. Angels and other heavenly helpers may step in to make sure these things are accomplished. Know that the Universe does indeed have your back as you follow the guidance and wisdom of your heart.

Reducing Drama

Ever notice how certain people you run across leave nothing but drama? Everything in life is always wrong, other people are always out to get them, molehills are always mountains, etc., etc.!!! Hanging out with drama queens can feel like being on a never-ending hamster wheel. You keep working harder and harder to help them and get absolutely nowhere. There are steps you can take to minimize the energy they steal from you (and, yes, they are energy vampires)!!!

  1. Cut ties with all those who are not integral parts of your life! If it is not a close friend or family member or someone you have to work with at your job, don't give them time. Yes, sometimes you want to help them but it can be a losing battle if they like the drama (and don't really want the help). Ask your heart if you have the ability to help them or if they are just trying to suck you in to feed off your energy. Your heart will tell you. Even when I cut someone loose, I send them off with love, asking the Universe for blessings to follow them.
  2. Learn when to engage and when not to engage. Some of us can be codependent on the drama--we just don't know what life would be like without the drama and so we encourage it by "trying to help". The fact of the matter is, the only person who can decide to stop the drama is the person creating it. If you allow them to solve their own problems, they are more likely to understand they are truly the ones with the power and only they have the power to change their circumstances.
  3. Even when it feels as though you are in the middle of someone else's storm, you have the ability to take care of yourself. When something feels too difficult, your body/intuition is trying to tell you to take a step back. Listen to it!!! Meditate, drink a glass of water, take a few deep breaths. Ask for the protection of your guardian angels or envision a protective light around yourself to keep you safe and your energy intact.
  4. Also know you can call on divine, energetic help for the person and the situation they are involved in. Ask for their guardian angels to step in or envision a healing, protective light around the person and the situation. Understand that even if it is not your problem to solve, it is in your power to call on divine help and guidance. Place that burden on Oneness, where it belongs.
It is possible to reduce the drama that comes into your life. You will feel much more grounded and able to meet your own challenges when you can consistently maintain your own higher vibration in the midst of the storm. The storm always passes. Use the storms to gain strength and become an even better you!!!

The Most Powerful Tool In Your Spiritual Toolbox

Spiritual battles are being fought all around me right now. It's almost as though someone has cranked up the volume on the stereo to full blast, effecting everyone within hearing distance (which seems to be pretty much everyone worldwide right now). Everywhere I turn, people are having some major struggle or another. It's important--now more than ever--to assess the tools we have at our disposal to help us remain strong and upright at this time a great upheaval.

Last night as I looked at the problems going on all around me, I felt the very strong need to once again ask for spiritual protection (seems I've been doing a lot of that lately). Jesus is my particular go-to guy when I need special help because I have known him my whole life and he has always been there for me. I asked him and the archangels to surround me with all the protection I needed to meet the challenges of the day.

I felt Jesus very close as words formed in my head. "We are always here when you need us and you ask. Understand that nothing can get to you with us here." All at once I was overwhelmed with the love he has for me and has always had for me. Tears rolled down my cheeks as I felt the immense power of love emanating from my protectors.

And that's when it hit me. Love is the most powerful protection of all!!! When there is pure, unconditional love, nothing bad can harm you. The vibration of love is so high everything that comes into its presence is transformed. Love cannot be stopped!!!

Are you carrying the power of unconditional love in your spiritual toolbox? Are you allowing it to surround you and envelop you in its lovely strength? The more familiar you become with the power and the presence of love, the more you BEcome love. You have the ability to transform all those negatives in your life into positives.

Know that the most powerful tool you can ever have is with you at all times. You just need to remember to use it!!!

Calling On Help Unseen

When I was fourteen, I talked to Jesus daily. I told him what I was feeling. I thanked him for what I had. I asked him for help with things I was trying to accomplish. My inner monologue was usually scattered throughout the day as thoughts came up. I couldn't see him or hear him, but I felt his presence with me.

I walked home from school every day as my parents both worked and were not available to pick me up. I didn't mind. It usually gave me some quiet time to think.

I remember walking home from school one fall afternoon. It wasn't particularly cold yet. The sky overhead was blanketed in clouds, although they were not so heavy as to be dark. Pretty typical for Ohio, where I lived.

As I came up a road about two blocks from my house, I noticed a car drive past me. I wasn't paying particular attention to the car until I heard it stop slightly past me. Slowly, it pulled back to where I was. Odd.

Then I looked at the car. There were two skanky looking men that appeared to be in their mid twenties. The one driving had dark unkempt hair with a scraggly beard. The one in the passenger seat closest to me was blonde but had the same unkempt hair and beard. What really scared me though were the expressions in their eyes. I had never seen evil that intense and close up (nor have I seen it since). I knew they were planning to grab me, rape me and probably kill me. It was written in those soulless expressions.

I didn't have time to think, but I did what came naturally. I just said a quick prayer, "Jesus, save me!!!"

In that moment, the looks of evil in the eyes of those men changed. Instead of looking dangerous and powerful, their expressions became filled with terror. The man driving the car stepped on the gas so hard the tires squealed as they sped off.

My first thought was, "There must be a cop car coming down the road," but no cop car was there. Nor was any other car there. No car was coming down the street, parked on the street or even sitting in a driveway. And there were no people either--not even people looking out the windows of any of the houses lining the street. I stood there for several minutes looking for the presence of any other person. I was the only one there.

As that realization sunk in, I knew something powerful had happened. There was no way those guys had been scared off by me. My only guess was that they had somehow been allowed to see the angels who were protecting me and it frightened them so badly they peeled out as fast as they could. The important thing was, I had taken the time to ask for help. I believe I received it.

We all face problems. Sometimes these problems seem so big and dangerous we have no idea how we are going to overcome them. Understand we do have the power to handle these situations. We have the power of the One. To access this power, all we need to do is ask.

There is always unseen help to be given. Call upon it, and the powers of the heavens will make themselves available to you.
