The Perfection Of Imperfection

I'll admit it. I have some very perfectionistic tendencies. I hate to be late. I tend to hold myself to extremely high moral and ethical standards. I want my writing to be perfect. I get it honestly enough. Both my parents have extremely perfectionistic behaviors themselves.

That said, I am the complete opposite of perfect. I am prone to be a packrat (which makes my house look dirty even when it is not). I have a terrible temper. I am susceptible to hurt feelings even when I understand the person who did the hurting is suffering themselves. I could go on and on, but you get the idea.

I used to really beat myself up over my mistakes. I'd call myself bad names. I'd berate myself. I would even compare myself to those people I saw as perfect and ask why I couldn't be more like them.

The thing is, nobody's perfect. Even those people we hold up (or get held up by others) as glorious examples of how people should be are not perfect. Those people are usually just better at covering up their imperfections than the rest of us.

Human life was not meant to be perfect, and there's a reason for it. Making mistakes is all part of the learning process. We try something new. Maybe it works out. Maybe it doesn't. When things don't work out, it is time to try a different approach. If you're not making mistakes, you're not doing anything new. You are not growing.

The brilliance of imperfection lies in its ability to grow the human spirit. Imperfection allows us the experiences we need to gain wisdom and understanding. It's why we signed up for this messy human experiment. It is through our imperfections we are perfected.

Hate, Bigotry And The Bigger Picture

I have been watching posts on Facebook lately about states beginning to legislate that it is okay for businesses to discriminate against homosexuals. Normally I would go off on that fact that We the People are being pitted against each other as a means to steal our personal power. While this is still true, what hits me more strongly today is the fact that, as a human race, we are still stuck as such low levels of energy this is even an issue. Hatred and bigotry are extremely low-level frequencies. They are energies of separation and division. Personally, they make me so uncomfortable I avoid them whenever I can.

A number of months ago, I remember reading an article about a lesbian couple planning a wedding. They sought the services of a local bakery to bake up the wedding cake. Problem was, the bakers were Christians who believe homosexuality is a sin so they refused to make the cake. The lesbian couple then proceeded to sue the bakers for discrimination.

I'm not going to try to assign blame or attribute "rightness" or "wrongness" to this situation. Fact of the matter is, all these people have made the choice to wallow in low level energies. The lesbian couple is choosing to force a fight because they feel slighted. They are justifying it saying they are fighting for the rights of homosexuals everywhere. While this may be true, I find myself asking why they are choosing to fight instead of trying to bring love into the situation. As for the Christian bakers, I wonder why they would choose a god who picks favorites?

When I moved to my current small Georgia town a number of years ago, I was hesitant. I had heard stories about racial tensions from people who lived there, and that was not the sort of environment I wanted to raise my children in. I have friends who represent many races, religions, cultures and sexual orientations. I choose my friends based on who they are as people and the energies they carry. No matter our differences, I always find good things about them with which to base mutual understanding and goodwill. Fortunately, I found these same attitudes in my new town and have been very happy here.

The question becomes, are there still racial tensions here? Probably. These attitudes and energies still exist in people everywhere. The thing is, I don't identify with them, resonate with them, or attract them. Those places I occasionally come across that do give me negative vibes are those places I typically avoid.

Eradicating hatred and bigotry will not be a matter of bringing the fight, although I also believe ignoring problems does not make them go away. Rather, it is up to us to bring balance to those situations that have reeled seriously out of control.

I believe Martin Luther King, Jr. had the right idea when he said the following:
Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.
Overcoming hatred and bigotry will not happen in the fight. It will happen because we have grown to a place where we understand our differences are not a means to separate us but a means to draw our varied talents and resources together in order to create the world of our dreams.

Who Controls You?

This is something I found posted online and I thought it was extremely profound! Just something to think about!!!

Finding Your Happy Place

In a world of broken people, it is not easy for someone with empathic abilities to stay happy. It takes some effort to remember the unhappiness around you is not your own and then take the time to focus on those little things around you that do make you happy. Finding your happy place requires you to do two things: figure out what exactly makes you happy and taking the time to journey there every day.

One of the things my coach did for me was to help me remember those things that make me happy. My happiest place of all is outside in nature surrounded by trees. I spent a lot of time in my childhood playing in my yard. There was a smaller maple tree in the front yard and a very large black ash tree in my backyard. The tree in the back came complete with an especially cool tire swing, compliments of my father. Trees have always given me a sense of wisdom and permanence, and I spent many hours of silent communication with them as I grew up.

Even today in my little slip of a yard, I have a tendency to sit and commune with a couple of specific trees that live there. I can feel their presence now as I sit in my living room within 15 feet of where they grow.

On days when it is too cold for me to spend a lot of time outdoors, I will use my imagination to think about some of my walks in the woods. There are several places here in Georgia my husband and I like to go hiking. One of my favorite places is at a state park not far from the North Carolina border called Black Rock Mountain State Park. There is a circular trail called the Tennessee Rock Trail my husband and I found several years ago that makes me feel especially close to God.
This particular part of the trail I call my cathedral because it fills me with the quiet reverence you would expect to find in a church or holy setting. On days I cannot make it into my beloved woods, I will sit and use my imagination to spend some time there.

The point is, I know places where I am happy, and when I need a bit of strengthening and renewal I will find a way to go there, whether I am there for real or just in my imagination.

We all have this same ability. Granted, not everyone has a well-developed imagination. If you don't, it is not difficult to make substitutions. Find a picture here on the internet or one in a magazine you can sit and look at. Ironically, if you look at the same picture long enough, you may actually find yourself there for real at some point in the future.

If you have not already done so, make sure you know those activities and places that make you happy! Ask yourself a few key questions. What was I doing the last time I felt happy? Who was I with? How often do I make the time to do this? How could I do this when it is not physically possible? These questions and more will help you open up to the possibilities that are in your own life.

Take time to find your happy place and spend some time there daily. This alone will change your energy/frequency into a much higher one. When we all find ways to feel and be happy, we will also find our world has become a much better place for all of us to live in.

The Burden Of Unforgiveness

Someone hurts you. You feel pain. Sadness. Anger. Sometimes we allow those feelings to overwhelm us to the point they come back out as more pain, directed at the person who hurt us or even at people who had nothing to do with the initial hurt. Often, you wear those painful feelings as a badge of honor or pride. "I've been hurt, so I have a reason to act this way!" You believe that by displaying your pain for the world to see the person who hurt you will suffer. The irony is, carrying unforgiveness ultimately hurts only one person: you.

Let's look at the anatomy of unforgiveness. When you allow yourself to wallow in unforgiveness, you are basically floating around in a sea of pain. You are surrounded by very slow moving, lower vibrating energies. Often your life is stagnant or on hold as you play in such energies. The sad part is, you are choosing to feel this way!!!

You may have been taught that forgiving someone means the bad thing the other person did to hurt you will somehow now be justified. The truth is, forgiveness in no way changes what the other person did. Forgiveness changes you!!! That's right, folks! Forgiving someone else changes you!!!

When you choose to forgive another person, you decide you have felt enough pain and are ready to experience something new. You allow yourself to get beyond the hurt and move on!!! Forgiveness is ultimately all about you and your journey of growth!!!

Don't let yourself to suffer needlessly. Carrying unforgiveness around is a very great burden to bear. Love yourself enough to let go of those tired, draining energies and allow yourself to step out and experience something better!!! Your life will once again be your own!!!

On Tapping Into Your Genius

What do Thomas Edison, Salvador Dali and Albert Einstein have in common? The obvious answer is they were geniuses in their fields. However, I'm going to go with a not so obvious answer: daytime napping. What does daytime napping have to do with genius, you ask? Let me enlighten you.

A number of years ago, I became very fascinated by the science of brain wave states. Most people are aware there are different patterns of brain wave function depending on what activity someone is participating in. In the Beta brain wave state, a person is awake and alert with a brain wave cycle of 14 to 28 cycles per second. In an Alpha state, the brain cycles between 7 and 14 cycles per second. This is a state of deep relaxation where many people can fall into daydreams. In a Theta brain wave state, which cycles 4 to 7 times a second, you are extremely relaxed and your mind is beginning to tap into the unconscious, as when you are under hypnosis or in a light dream state. Delta waves are considered deep sleep and are between 0 and 4 cycles per second.

I had noticed in my own personal life that in those moments when I was sort of in the twilight between wakefulness and sleep I would feel very connected to God. Quite often amazing ideas and thoughts would appear in my mind at these same times. Bouts of inspiration you might call them. On a scientific level, this would be in the Theta brain wave state. When you are in a Theta state, your mind is freed from the rules and laws placed around you by society and you are able to connect to the greater mind of the One.

So what does this twilight sleep state have to do with Edison, Dali and Einstein? They were all well known nappers who each developed techniques for taking naps that allowed them to go into a Theta state but no further.

The story with Edison was that he would hold ball bearings in his hands while his hands were over a metal pail or saucer. He would then go in to a relaxed state to the point where he was actually on the verge of sleeping. The ball bearings would then drop out of his hands into the pail and create enough of a sound to wake him up so he was able to tap into this less conscious state for ideas without being overwhelmed by sleep. Dali and Einstein also had similar techniques that they used to wake themselves up just before they went into a deep sleep.

So what were they really doing? Power napping? In a manner of speaking, perhaps. I believe these three men all knew one thing. If they could get their minds calmed down and silent enough, they could begin to tap into the place where all knowledge and information exists: the One. Some scientists refer to this as the field, although there are many names it is called depending on your focus.

Need a little inspiration--a little genius--in your own life? Consider making meditation an everyday occurrence. By getting yourself used to being in a Theta brain wave state, you can tap into the vast stores of knowledge and information of the One. It's all about tapping into the field. Tapping into God.

Get connected...and allow yourself to tap into the genius that is you!!!

Laughter Is Good For the Soul!!!

Here's a little more Big Bang Theory to brighten your day!!! Enjoy!!!
Don't forget to SMILE!!!

The Power of Music

Music is so much a part of life that we often forget how big a role it plays in our daily lives. We listen to it on our radios and MP3 players. We sing the national anthem before ball games. Even commercials have catchy little tunes that help us remember the products they are trying to sell. Music surrounds us every day--so much so that we often take it for granted. The thing is, music is a very powerful force for both creation and destruction.

As an empath (and a musical one at that), I have always been quite sensitive to sound. I cannot listen to certain types of music for long because they tend to bring me down rather quickly. Heavy metal has always been particularly hard for me to deal with as are certain types of rap. I am most drawn to happy, upbeat sorts of tunes (pop and country often work well here). I also appreciate the haunting qualities of many songs written in minor keys. Those seem to have a mellowing, calming effect on me.

Playing music for someone who is sick or injured can have positive effects on their recovery. Many of us like to listen to strong, upbeat music when we're working out to motivate us and pass the time. We will use music as lullabies to lull our children to sleep at night. Even science has concluded that music and sound have the power to change the way people think and function by changing brainwave function.

Stop and think for a few minutes. Is there any music playing in the background right now? What sorts of music do you come into contact with throughout the day? Can you feel the emotional effects certain songs or types of music have on you?
Given all this, it is not a far reach to say that music has the power to change the world. Don't you think it's time you paid attention to what is playing in the background of your life? You might just find you can use it to change your life for the better!!!

For Awareness and Consideration

I have been noticing some really crazy energies out there today!!! Feels like there are major battles going on behind the scenes in regards to Mother Earth and her imprisoned children.

I am reminded of a Bible scripture that seems pertinent today. From Ephesians 6:12 (KJV).
For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
There is a spiritual battle taking place right now. There are pockets of physical battle manifesting as well, although the powers of darkness are good at hiding this fact.

Do not be fooled. Your help is needed in balancing the darkness. Ask for protection for yourself, your family and all forces of light. Stay connected to your heart.  Focus your thoughts and energies on light and understanding, peace and calm. Visualize the world you want to live in--one where beauty, peace, love and hope thrive. Know we can create the world of our dreams.

Our perfect world begins in our minds and hearts, where the battle is now being fought! Contribute your positive energy towards helping it manifest in the physical!!!

The Things We Learn From Children

My life has been a bit stressful lately. Money concerns. Bipolar disorder and depression. Some days it can be hard to get anything done with the walls of my problems closing in on me. Today was definitely one of those days, even though I tried to spend some good quality time at the park with my granddaughter.

Tonight it caught up with me. I sat with my face in the computer just surfing the web, hoping to find something to distract me from the chaos that is going on in my own life. My husband had the movie "Frozen" playing in the other room for my granddaughter to watch and he was with her so I didn't need to concern myself with what she was up to.

Still, somehow she sensed what was going on with me and kept coming in to check on how I was doing. This little imp of a person won't even be two until July. She can't talk much and she gets frustrated easily. Even with all those impediments, she could still sense that something was up with Mimi. She wanted to play. Sit in my lap. Read books.

Finally she pointed to the rocking chair next to my desk. When I asked if she wanted to rock she vigorously shook her head "yes". I sat down in the rocker and she climbed in my lap.

As I sat with her back to my chest and rocked, I felt her spirit comforting me. I felt her love. Tears I could no longer hold in streamed down my face as I wept silently. She looked up at me briefly as if to say, "It's okay. I understand." I felt the tears release most of my anxiety of the past few days.

And in that moment I appreciated who she is in the world. Yes, she's a very cute little squirt, but I saw her as so much more. The soul that she is is so much bigger than her 20 months displays. It is brilliant. Strong. Powerful. Full of light and love and intelligence.

It is so easy to connect to the heart--connect to the One--when you are a small child. Most days I believe they are so much closer to God than I am. My granddaughter easily sensed my need and did what she could to help me take care of it.

It is on days like this when I know we can learn a lot more from children than we, as adults, could possibly ever hope to teach them.

What Is An Empath?

A number of years ago, I had a rather strange experience. While in the middle of my school day as a Pre Kindergarten teacher, I heard the words, "You are an empath." I didn't hear them with my physical ears, and I'm pretty sure they were from my main guardian angel, who will speak to me every once in a while. My response to that statement was, "What's an empath?"

I'm not exactly sure why I was told that on that particular day, but it did make me curious enough that I went home and Googled the word empath on my computer. As I began reading, a few things became crystal clear. Why I avoid crowds. Why I love to spend time in nature. Why I avoid people in bad moods. Why I avoid movies and tv shows that portray horrific pain, violence or death. (To this day, I have never even been able to watch the movie "Titanic" in its entirety--only bits and pieces.)

Basically, an empath is someone who is highly sensitive to the feelings of the people and things in the world around them. There are all sorts of interesting articles describing in full detail all the characteristics that go along with that, but suffice it to say an empath is someone who is very good at reading energies in the world around them to the point where they can feel those things internally.

There is one thing I will say about being an empath that many empaths will disagree with: it can be learned. Most articles you read on the net tell you it is an innate trait that cannot be learned. Some people are innately gifted in this way, but for those who are not regular meditation practices and tuning into your heart can open these gifts up to you.

The key to becoming more empathic lies in your willingness to be open and sensitive to the world around you. More than likely, if you are not empathic you have highly developed shields. Shielding can be a good thing at times because it protects you from taking on too many destructive forces at once.

Becoming more empathic is something that will happen to you as you become more connected to heart. It is not an easy ride for those unprepared for it. (Think TMI!!!)

While there are many good articles on the internet about empaths and how to protect yourself, my favorite author on the subject is Dr. Judy Orloff, who is an intuitive psychiatrist. She's a great mix of science and intuition--very balanced and not extreme. Link here for her brief take on being an emotional empath.

Part of the process of becoming more conscious in the world involves listening to what others are thinking and feeling. By connecting to the One in this way, we will all be more able to make decisions based on the good of the whole instead of what may be good for just us or a few in the long run.

Empathy is a trait carried by those who have raised their awareness. Do not allow these extra feelings to weigh you down when you begin to hear them. Rather, identify they do not belong directly to you be asking the question, "Who does this belong to?" Use this information to begin helping people cope and in this way smooth the path for everyone!!!

The Message of Gaia's Gift Shungite, by Nancy L. Hopkins

In writing the nonfiction COSMIC REALITY, I came to the conclusion you cannot have manifestation without consciousness, which is not an original theory. In fact others have realized there has to be a creative consciousness responsible for everything in the biosphere of Earth. I chose to call this consciousness the name given to a Greek Goddess whose children include Uranus (the sky), Oceanus (the ocean), Themis (justice), Mnemosyne (memory) and others under the group name of the Titans. When choosing the name Gaia, I did not know she was also known as “Ge” and that led to such words a “geology”, “geography”, “geothermal” and “geopathic”. And, what does that “G” stand for in the logo for Freemasonry?

To Gaia I dedicated my life to work with her to create a new reality. This was October 2013. In March 2014 Gaia had a friend bring me Shungite in the form of rings and pendants. I already knew about this black mineral very similar to coal. It was being used by the Russians to protect against electromagnetic, radio frequencies, and WiFi cell phone signals. Knowing and having are distinctly different. Upon having Shungite its magical world began to unfold.

Proof that EM/RF/WiFi/geopathic and nuclear radiation is damaging to all living things is undeniable. Threats to water supplies from a multitude of toxins is reaching critical proportions. Air quality is equally on a precipice of disaster. Food supplies from overworked land and GM pollution threatens mass starvation. Human and animal healing modalities are antiquated and barbaric. Each and every one of these problems is a direct consequence of energy fields rotating in a counterclockwise motion.

Simple as that. Energy fields rotating in the wrong direction. All the complicated, seemingly unbeatable problems confronting Earth can be solved by simply causing those damaging, toxic energy fields to rotate in the opposite direction. Shungite does that. And Gaia gave it to us with a mission: “Get Shungite to the masses.”

Shungite is Gaia’s Gift and her message that all the seemingly unsolvable problems in the world and in your life will wilt away, when we all realize we are never alone and reality is what we think it is. My reality shifted when I actually realized Gaia HAD to exist. Upon acknowledging that existence and dedicating myself to be in her service, Reality shifted into the realm of empowerment and magic.

Odd thing is, the first step was to claim dominion over my own being. I had realized creation of my own individual reality was my responsibility. If my reality was flawed, only I could fix it. And the only way to fix it was to control ever thought that went through my mind. We are what we think.

I think every single human should consider themselves the most important thing in their reality. If they get right all around them gets right. And this is why Cindy Shippy Evans is doing such good work for us all. These posts give wise and profound interpretations of specific subjects that all of us have to think about or grapple with. We have to start the change of reality with ourselves. Cindy helps us do that, one post at a time.

To sum up: do not be afraid of seemingly insurmountable problems as Gaia’s Gift Shungite will solve them all (I have no hesitation making this claim!) With that limiting fear set aside, know you can grow in knowledge and empowerment, by making yourself the most important person in your own reality. Work to become the person who brings you joy and enlightenment, one thought at a time.

You can find out more information about Shungite and obtain Shungite products at our website http://www.cosmicreality.net/. We are a nonprofit Florida corporation - Cosmic Reality Shungite, Inc.

Note from CSE:

This is my first guest blog post, written by a dear friend Nancy L. Hopkins. She is extremely passionate about what Shungite can do for the world and has been enthusiastically sharing its message for some time.

It is extremely gratifying to me when I come across people who are connecting to their hearts and receiving such messages from the Universe. The world is much better served when we choose to listen to listen to and follow advice from the heart!

Each One Reach One!!!

I was having a rather tongue-in-cheek conversation with a Facebook friend of mine about the evil that currently rules the world. He is rather upset that humanity does not seem to be able to wake up from their slumber and do something to change the status quo. While I understand his sentiments, I honestly still have a belief that we can change things, albeit slowly.

My response to him brought me back to my Christian upbringing and one of the slogans I heard that was really meant to convert people to Jesus: each one reach one. The whole point was about everybody playing their part to teach someone who needed to learn.

I remember my own awakening. It all began when my daughter was diagnosed with bipolar disorder. All doctors ever say is you can't cure it. It can be controlled, but it involves being medicated for life. That wasn't the answer I wanted to hear, and something deep in my heart told me that wasn't the whole story. My search for answers made me ask questions I had never needed to ask before. Each new piece of information led me to new questions with new answers.

After a while, I learned about a whole host of other topics I had never paid attention to before. That's the thing about questions and learning. Once you begin asking questions and coming to new understandings, you just don't want to stop. Once you step into the rabbit hole, your life is never quite your own anymore.

So now that I have been confronted by all the evil in the world, what do I do with that? How do I begin to change it? Each one reach one!!!

It isn't about swaying someone over to your point of view or even teaching them new facts. It's about connecting to them, heart-to-heart, and helping them learn to think from that place. Love is a very powerful tool. That's how the heart has the ability to connect us all. It flows in and through all things. Permeates all things. It's something we all connect to innately.

Each one reach one. It's about reaching out to your brother or sister in love and understanding and showing them we are all in this together. That we are all truly One.

One at a time, we have the ability to change the world!!!

To Think As ONE

Here on planet earth, our state of separation causes us to think as separate entities. Even those of us who are concerned with how we treat others sometimes make decisions that can have a negative impact on others or even the whole.

In order to try to control the chaos, rules and laws were put into place. Rules and laws are designed to be used as guidelines for behavior, but what they really do is limit our choices and take away our integrity and personal responsibility. With rules and laws we no longer take action on what we innately feel is correct. Rather, we weigh potential actions against the consequences of breaking the rules and act from that place. This is what I like to call thinking with the head or the brain.

There is another way to think. It is to think through the heart. Even looking at these words through your brain thought process, you innately feel that connection. In its broadest sense, our hearts connect us to all other hearts through love. When you think through heart, you automatically understand you are connected to the whole of creation--to the ONE. The actions you choose from this place are different because you understand where those actions may help or hurt. The heart makes decisions based on the path that feels the least resistance. The heart makes decisions based on what feels like an enthusiastic yes or a gut-wrenching no. Understand that the less extreme the feeling, the less overall impact your decision is likely to have. Strong feelings are an indication you must act now!!!

When you think with your head, your knowledge and information a limited to what you have learned through your life experience and the immediate information your body picks up through the five physical senses of sight, hearing, touch, taste and smell.

The heart, on the other hand, is connected to the ONE. The heart is connected to everyone and everything. Consequently, when you are connected to heart, you have access to unlimited knowledge. (Note that does not mean you are necessarily thinking about it all at the same time. It just means you can ask the question and the heart will take you to the answers.) Decisions based on this heart information benefit the whole.

To think as ONE, you must begin a practice of focusing in on and living through your heart. There are many ways to do this, but for me it is important to sit in meditation and clear my head of the jumble of thoughts and noise that enter in through those five senses. Allowing yourself the time to be clear and then allowing your heart to expand out into the Universe, you can begin exploring in a whole new way. You begin thinking in a whole new way!!!

The world as it is now is one huge mess. Many of us spend time trying to fix it, but the problems remain. The problems remain because we continue to try to fix them using the same mentality that created the problems in the first place--thinking from the head. When we begin to think through the heart, we will see solutions that we didn't see before because we will have access to all available information.

Begin thinking through heart. Begin to think as ONE!!!

Invitation To Connect To Spirit (In Real Time)

Tomorrow, I will be hosting a two hour broadcast on Wolf Spirit Radio, Connecting To Heart With Cindy Shippy Evans
Please join me on my first journey of connection on Sunday, March 22, 2015 between 1pm and 3pm Pacific time (4pm to 6pm Eastern).

http://www.wolfspiritradio.com/joomla/

I look forward to connecting with you in Spirit!!!

An Invitation From Spirit

You were born into a world of separation. You were given a race, a gender, a religion, an economic status, a political philosophy, a country, You were defined by your gifts and talents, or lack thereof. Everything about this world you live in has categorized you in order to give you identity. You use this identity to define and distinguish yourself in the world. You assume this identity makes you special and unique, but the reality is identity can be a trap. When you allow your differences to define who you are, you separate yourself from others. The separation may be subtle, but it's there all the same.

Deep down, you know something's missing. You chase after relationships or money or career advancement or travel or anything else that catches your fancy in an attempt to fill the void. Still, nothing helps and you're left wondering why.

Understand the separation you feel is not real. It was designed to keep you from understanding who you truly are. Beautiful. Powerful. Brilliant! You were never defined by the circumstances of your birth, the odds you overcame to change those circumstances, or even by the choices you've made. You are so much more than your life has made you believe!

The truth is, you are connected to everyone and everything through that very organ that pumps the water of life through your veins--your heart. The heart is the doorway to all time, all dimensions, the I Am. The spirit of I Am surrounds you and fills you, just as it surrounds and fills all things.

It is time for you to remember who you are and where you came from. Spirit calls to you, inviting you to consciously connect once again. Awaken to your true self. The world desperately needs your light and power to become the beautiful, peaceful paradise it was before.

I Am waiting. Know that you have always been a part of me, as I have always been a part of you. I have never forgotten or left you.

I Am knocking. Will you open the door and let me in?

Perspectives On The Pain Created By Others

He said/she said. Arguing. Fighting. Drama. Someone says or does something to create pain, and the person the pain is inflicted on retaliates. It's a common enough occurrence in our world. How can we change this, you ask? By changing how we look at pain and the mechanisms it works through.

In my retail job, there are certain regular customers that my fellow associates see and quickly run in the opposite direction. My coworkers do this because these customers tend to be pushy and complaining and nothing is ever right--an attitude that causes pain in my coworkers. Ironically, I can make these same customers smile and have a pleasant shopping experience. Is it because I am a better salesman (aka schmoozer)? Nope. It is because I use my empathic skills to understand the customer's needs and then I do my best to give them what they need!

When I read these particular customers, I usually get a sense of the pain they are feeling. Sometimes the pain is physical. They may be old or sick and just not feel good. Sometimes it is mental/emotional pain. At all times, this pain is crying out for release. For most people, release means unleashing it on someone else. Unfortunately, the results are that the pain energy is unleashed on whoever is nearby, like my coworkers.

Did my coworkers cause the initial pain trauma that is now being inflicted on them? Most likely not. The fact of the matter is, the actions we take are a direct result of how we have learned to operate in the world. Any action I take, regardless of how it effects you, is all about me! Any action you take, regardless of how it effects me, is all about you!!! Just let that thought sink in for a few moments, and you'll begin to understand the reality of the situation.

If you're having a bad day and your anger comes out on some poor, unsuspecting sales associate, is it the fault of the sales associate for poor customer service? You may try to blame them, but let's get real. You were having a bad day in the first place. Where did the pain come from? Are you passing it along?

When I encounter a cranky customer, I do not accept responsibility for the pain they are inflicting. In other words, I don't take it personally. Their pain was already there. I refuse to make it mine.

I see myself as the source of love and help and protection. I use these positive resources to try to help them fill the void that pain has created in their lives. This is how I can change cranky customers into happy ones. I listen, acknowledge them and their pain, and do what I can to solve their problems. Sometimes, all it takes is a sympathetic, listening ear.
Transforming the pain you encounter in others is as simple as thinking about it differently!!! By allowing them to express their pain and not allowing it to alter how you feel about yourself, you actually have the ability to help them release their pain in a way that does not destroy. You can then turn around and send them love and healing and peace.

Perspective is everything. When you change yours, the world around you magically begins to change. Creating a better world begins with your thoughts. Transform the pain created by others by seeing it differently!!!

Re-Thinking What Is Possible!!!

What if...your understandings of how society works were wrong? What if...everything you have ever been taught about human behavior was wrong? What if...we could step outside those boxes and create a new reality? What would that look like? What are the possibilities?

I know I do not like the world the way it is at present. Too much hunger. Too much disease. Too much poverty. Too much pollution. Too much violence. Too much war. Too much agony and pain overall. For someone with highly developed skills of empathy, this much suffering can be very difficult to take.

We are taught it is a dog-eat-dog world. Everyone must fight for what they want. Survival of the fittest is the way things are. Our world's resources are limited. There is not enough to go around.

What if...I told you there is a solution for every problem? Would you believe me and try to find the solutions, or would you scoff and turn away?

My heart tells me there are always solutions!!! My heart tells me to ask new questions that will help me find new answers and increase my understanding!!! My heart tells me there are ways for everyone to not only have enough but to also live abundantly!!!

Let me give you a concrete example. We are told the world cannot possibly feed all of its seven billion people--that there is not enough land to grow enough food to alleviate the hunger. I don't buy it!!! I look around and see creative solutions to food problems everywhere. An initiative in Boston allows food to be grown on vacant lots, providing healthy food, business opportunities and agriculture training to local residents. Los Angeles residents were able to overcome city gardening ordinances to be able to grow food on small but usable strips of land. In Milwaukee, Wisconsin, over a million pounds of food is grown year round on three acres of land using a vertical aquaponics design that even incorporates protein in the form of fish! Then there is the organic farmer in California who ended up with a bumper crop of veggies during one of the most severe droughts on record!!! These are just a few examples, but they all say one thing to me: there are solutions to every problem!!!

Don't like the world you live in either? Join me in changing it!!! Allow yourself to rethink what is possible. Begin asking the questions that will open your mind and heart up to new understandings!!!

Even more important: get into your own heart and connect to the love within it!!! By connecting to heart, you can begin connecting to the infinite wisdom of the universe, expanding your knowledge base and understandings exponentially!!!

It is time to re-think what is possible so we can create a world we all want to live in!!!

The Revolution Is Here (And It Is Not What You Think)!!!

Lately, I have been obsessing over my DVD copy of "Mockingjay, Part 1", part of the Hunger Games trilogy by Suzanne Collins. Under normal circumstances, I can watch a movie once (or twice if it's really good) then I won't want to watch it again for a long while. This time it's different, so I have to ask myself the question, "Why is it different this time?" I realize this is a message from spirit. There is something here I need to pay attention to.

The overall theme of the books/movies is slavery. In a post-apocalyptic United States, the people who have survived are subjected to harsh living conditions in order to give the ruling class, who live in a place known as the Capitol, a high standard of living. Because of a former rebellion, these slaves are also forced to give up two of their children every year to be slaughtered in a winner-takes-all televised killfest designed to be entertainment for the Capitol and a reminder of who is in charge for the slaves, known to all as the Hunger Games.

However, my current obsession runs to only the most recently released movie in the saga, "Mockingjay, Part 1". Why? As I sit and ponder the question, answers come.

This particular part of the story deals with civil war and revolution, which has been energized by the actions of the story's main character, Katniss Everdeen. This revolution contains the usual death and violence that has so characterized human uprisings in the past.

Here in the United States, I don't see the same fighting, violence or destruction of what we call revolution (although the media would display violent incidents in an attempt to make us think we are fighting other races or religions or sexual orientations). Still, what hits me (and why I believe I am obsessing) is the fact that my country and even my world are in the throes of a revolution. The difference is, the revolution is more one of thought.

Most of us in this world are not physical slaves or captives. However, we are mentally enslaved. We are enslaved by thoughts, by rules, by taboos, by judgments. Our chains consist of technology and jobs and mortgages and bank accounts and taxes. These things are so ingrained in us we no longer question the rightness of any of it--at least not with our heads.

Our hearts understand there is so much more. Our hearts are tapped into the unlimited place of Oneness. Where the brain sees limitations, the heart feels expansion. Where the brain sees confinement, the heart feels freedom. The heart understands possibility and knows there is much more to life than what has been presented.

The heart also understands violence is not required for positive change. One only needs to begin consciously asking the heart for answers and following the guidance it gives.

The time has come to stop fighting. The time has come to understand that we are much better together than separate. The time has come to heal our planet by making the choices that will benefit us all.

The revolution is here!!! It is the revolution of the heart!!!
Join me?!!!

The Heart's Higher Law

Most of us have probably seen this viral video, ironically posted as a commercial for a Thai communications company.
It's an extremely moving and powerful piece about the value of giving. If it doesn't make you feel powerful emotion, you're probably missing something!

Let's explore the intuitive information most of us tend to ignore on a daily basis. The video starts off with a young boy being accused of stealing by a female shopkeeper. A neighboring shopkeeper notices it is medicine and asks the boy about it. After saying it is for his sick mama, the food shopkeeper pays for the medicine and also gives the boy some chicken soup from his own shop.

The conditioned parts of us (rational, stuck in the "real world" mentality) first pick up on the idea that it is not "right" to steal. It is not acceptable to take things that don't belong to you or that you haven't personally worked for.  Then we begin to look at the thinking that comes from heart, like the food shopkeeper did. He understood the boy had a need for medicine but had no money to pay. The man's compassion overcame his indignity and he gave what he had freely. Helping was his only thought.

We jump to the future, where the same food shopkeeper has maintained his giving, compassionate heart. When he suffers some sort of brain aneurysm or stroke, his sweet daughter is obliged to sell their shop and home in order to pay for her father's massive medical bills. It's definitely an overwhelming sort of situation to be in--very hopeless.

However, the operating surgeon also happens to be the same little boy the shopkeeper saved so many years ago when he was caught shoplifting medicine for his mother. Remembering the kindness, the now grown man forgives the shopkeeper's hospital debt, saying the debt was paid years ago with free medicine and chicken soup.

Why does this play so powerfully with our emotions? Because it touches our hearts, and our hearts are where our connection to the divine live. Even though we usually choose to live by the rules and laws society dictates to us, our unconscious selves know there is a higher law, a higher order. It is this higher order functioning our emotions respond to.

Day-to-day, we function through our brain-based society, believing more laws and more rules will help us build a better world. Yet for all the laws and rules we set down, lawlessness remains. We heap on more and more rules and guidelines, yet we see no improvement. Many people have already decided the problems in society are just too bad and all we can to do is maintain.

I say that's BS!!! There is a higher law, but it doesn't function in the way most of us have come to rely on. It does not rely on a set of rules and laws we apply to all situations. It relies on compassion. It relies on love. It relies on the connection we have to all things through our hearts. The message of this video is powerful because the emotions it brings out rely on the heart's higher law.

Don't you think it is time to tap in to the divine by tapping into your heart's connection to it? If everyone did that, we could change the world for the better in an instant.

BE the change you wish to see in the world. Think with your heart!!!

Laughter Is Good For the Soul!!!

I LOVE this video!!! What a great way to play and increase your energetic signature!!!

Your Brand

I work a part-time retail job in a large department store. As I walk around straightening things up and helping customers select merchandise, I am increasingly aware of brands. Levi. Disney. Polo. What hits me is not so much about the brands themselves but how we, as human beings, want to associate ourselves with such things. We want to have the right car. We want to go to the right church and vote for the right political candidate. We even want to have certain brands emblazoned on our clothing. It's almost as if we no longer matter--just the things we associate ourselves with.

Brands are important if you are a business. After all, you want to sell your product, and the more distinctive you can make that product the more recognition (and more sales) you will receive. Product marketing relies heavily on making the brand recognizable and valuable so more people will want to identify with it.

I've personally never put much stock in brands. I learned long ago that brands don't necessarily mean quality. When I was in Junior High, Gloria Vanderbilt was huge in design and everyone wanted a pair of her high priced jeans. Several of my friends were "lucky" enough to get a pair. They wore them exactly twice before the washing machine tore them out at the seams. Shoddy workmanship meant to pay big profits to the designer. After that when someone told me about the latest and greatest, I would just shake my head and walk away. While I do occasionally wear name brands, it isn't because they're name brands. They just happen to be lucky enough to share closet space with my no-name generic stuff.

While I was at work the other day, the energy of the brands really hit me. There were people wearing brands on their shirts, and I could feel they literally identified with those brands--as if those brands were them!!! It was as if the people inside the shirts no longer recognized their own value. Their personal value was tied to the brands they were attached to. A marketer's dream, but a soul's nightmare.

Somewhere in this very materialistic world we have lost the essence of who we are!!! We feel worthless if we don't identify with a brand, so we happily take on the brands of others in an attempt to feel good about ourselves!!! Is is any wonder things can't make us happy? They are not us!!! When we take on the brands of others, we are making others more important than ourselves!!! No wonder we feel like crap!!!

You are unique!!! One-of-a-kind!!! Valuable!!! In all the world--in all the Universe--there is no one exactly like you!!! Don't fall for the idea you do not matter in and of yourself!!! You are whole and complete and perfect just as you are!!! Don't forget it!!!

Be willing to stop representing the brands of others!!! Understand they need you a whole lot more than you need them!!!

Your brand is who you BE in the world!!! Show it!!! Own it!!! Shout it from the rooftops!!!

Connect...Empower...Create!!!

A few years ago when my youngest son was a junior in high school, I realized my kids would all be raised and the focus of my adult life would pretty much be at an end. Yes, I worked most of that time, but I've never had a job I felt was my life's calling. I began to search for myself. It took the skills of a life coach to help me ask the questions that would lead me back to me.

For years, I've seen myself as a spiritual teacher of sorts, but I was seriously confused because I knew I did not want to do that within the confines/restrictions of a religion. I believe myself to be connected to God/Source/the Divine. I know I am often blessed with extra, intuitive knowledge because of that connection. In past, when the info and feelings were very strong, I passed on some of that intuitive info to people who needed reassurance that God knew what they were going through and was there for them. Occasionally I would access information for friends (readings).

What my coach helped me figure out was that, while I can do readings, I am uncomfortable doing them. Sometimes I find information I just don't want to know. (Can you say awkward?) Then there have been times in my life when I revealed what I knew and the situations did not go well. People can be embarrassed by circumstances in their lives and it's even more uncomfortable when someone else knows their problems. Relying on intuitive info pertaining to someone else can also be scary because your rational mind tells you that you're crazy and need to just leave it all alone.

However, there is one thing I do know. I am not the only one connected to the Divine. We are all connected and we all have the ability to access that information that is unconscious. While I am not comfortable being the go-between between others and God, I am more than happy to help you remember your own Divine connection. I truly believe if more people can learn to focus on this connection and think from that place--the place of heart--we can manifest a better world.

This blog was created to be the means to this end. My goal can be summed up in three simple words: Connect...Empower...Create!!! I desire to help you CONNECT to the Divine...EMPOWER yourself...and CREATE the life of your dreams!!!

God desires for us to remember that direct connection. God wants us to become awake and aware so that we understand our place in the world and use our natural abilities to accomplish our life's purpose.

I am not really here to teach you these things. I am here to help you remember them.

If you are reading this, the Divine is calling you to remember who you are!!! Thank you for your willingness to join me on this journey of connection, empowerment and creation!!! I am looking forward to seeing what you are able to create in this world!!! Let's build it together!!!

Protecting The Spiritual Self

There are many things we do every day to protect ourselves from potential harm--things we do so frequently we no longer have to think about doing them. We watch out for erratic drivers when we are on the road. We try to stay out of high crime areas we know to be unsafe. We even avoid people we know we could potentially fight or argue with to stay out of harm's way. We do these things because our experiences and our five senses have helped us understand the dangers of each. The thing is, these actions help protect our physical bodies, but what can we do to protect our spiritual bodies?Connecting to our intuitive selves allows us to explore a whole new world of self protection.

Darkness and problems exist on many levels. The bible (which I reference mainly because I was brought up Christian) hints at the subject:
For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. (Ephesians 6:12 KJV)
There are times when unseen entities seek entrance into our human minds and bodies. Certain actions we take can create holes in our physical and spiritual selves that allow these outside influences to come in and take over.

Understand there are numerous actions we can take with our physical bodies that can harm our spiritual selves. For example, using many different types of drugs (not just illegal) can create openings and allow this darkness in. Becoming drunk (especially to the point of passing out) can have this same effect. Having sex with people whose energy frequency is low and who have been infiltrated by these dark entities makes us vulnerable to these same dark energies because sex is a high-powered energy exchange. Even activities that involve excessive emotions, like pride and anger, can open you up to like-minded spiritual energies.

What can you do to protect yourself? Connect to the divine within your own heart and ask whether or not the action you are contemplating will open you up to harmful energies. Simple enough, but it does require time connecting. The more time you spend in connection, the easier it will be for you to determine the answers.

Protecting your spiritual self is a matter of conscious choice. Understand that, in this unconscious world, your actions do matter. Choose wisely.

Using Ego As Your Guide!

Most of us view ego as a bad thing. It can lead to vanity and pride. It can prompt us to argue and fight. It can even spoil our relationships and taint our lives with division and separation. The thing is, ego does not have to be a downfall! Ego actually has the ability to be life-changing because it shows you where your problems are!!!

One of the things my ego has pointed out to me is my need to justify my point of view. For example, when someone points something imperfect out about my writing, my ego reacts quickly, either by showing how I really said that same thing in a different way or by justifying how the point is not important. A classic case of trying to pretend I know everything (definitely an ego thing)!!! It is an interesting process--recognizing there are little things that set your emotions off every day that are based on ego.

How can ego be your guide? By becoming conscious of those occurrences that bring conflict into your life. Ego by its very definition is your separate, independent self. When you feel yourself divided from others, it is because ego has intervened.

When you feel yourself in conflict, it is time to stop and think. Get into your heart and ask what you can do to take yourself out of the fight. It may be as simple as recognizing that you really don't know everything or shouldn't hold yourself responsible for knowing everything or even that what was said was not outside yourself.

Recognizing when ego rears its ugly head can be your guide to a much better understanding of self. Allow this guidance system to indicate what issues you need to work on and use it to create unity in the world around you! Your life will never be the same!!!

On Choosing To Make the Unconscious Conscious

Consciousness. We get ourselves out of bed every morning and believe we are awake, but are we? We process information from our physical senses (sight, hearing, touch, taste, smell), but what do we know of our more intuitive senses?

Some of us choose to try to access this intuitive information every day, but it does come with a price. It is not always easy to acknowledge details that are unpleasant, which some intuitive information is. Choosing also requires us to take responsibility for ourselves, something our society has programmed us not to do because it gives more power and control to those who would rule us.

The scene from the movie "The Matrix", where the character Neo makes the choice to become aware is exactly the sort of choice we are all given every day.

It takes great courage to make the decision to access unconscious knowledge. Are you ready for the rabbit hole? It may just change your life!!!

Resolving Nightmare Energy

When I was a small child, I was often plagued by nightmares. Normally I would find myself wandering around in the dark until I found my parent's bedroom and I would crawl in bed with them to chase the bogeyman away. As I got older, that wasn't a very practical approach, so I came up with a new strategy.

I am not a lucid dreamer per se. Only rarely am I conscious enough within my dreams to effect any change while I am there. However, there is a technique that has served me well over the years. Once I have awoken from a nightmare, I spend a few minutes rethinking the ending to one where I take charge and am in control of whatever situation has presented itself.

For example, I used to dream about being chased by monsters when I was a kid. I would wake up just as they were about to catch me. With heart pounding, I would continue to lay in bed but use my imagination to change the outcome. Instead of the monster actually grabbing me, I would imagine myself finding a sword nearby and slaying the monster where it stood. Or finding a secret door only I could see and passing through, door firmly closed and locked behind me. Or shrinking it down to the size of an insect and squashing it. The point is, it doesn't really matter where your imagination takes you as long as it helps you resolve the feelings of being trapped and helpless (which is what monster dreams do to you). You can also use imagination to resurrect family and friends who die and save yourself from terrible accidents by seeing angels pluck you out of the dangerous situations and place you safely nearby.
Another thing you can do is ask for protection and envision yourself surrounded by big angels in armor or see a barrier of light encircling you that will not let anything negative in. Picture this protection long enough that you feel safe once again. It may not happen instantly, but the more you practice such techniques the easier they will be in future.

Imagination is an extremely powerful creative tool, yet we often believe it is a silly kid game with no real power. Think about this though: every book, work of art, scientific study, building, vehicle, etc. began as a thought!!! Imagination is the first step in manifestation!!!

I will leave you with a JK Rowling quote from Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. "Of course it is happening inside your head, Harry, but why on earth should that mean it is not real?"

We Are Not Separate!!!

The 1995 movie "Powder" contains some rather elegant truths. Here is one of my favorite scenes that talks about the fact that we believe we are separate, when in reality we are not. (Interesting what he says when he points to the Third Eye/pineal gland!!!)

Once again, sit back, close your eyes and feel into your heart. Is this true?

What Your Body Knows About Food (That Your Mind Forgot)

Every good pediatrician knows not to panic if your child is only eating bananas (to the exclusion of everything else). Doctors know there are mechanisms at work in a toddler's body that make her/him crave those nutrients the body needs. Still, it's enough to make attentive parents nervous. After all, how can a child get all the nutrition they need if they limit what they eat? I believe the problem has much more to do with our programming than it has to do with our instincts.

I look back at all the food messages I was given as I grew up. Eat everything on your plate. You need a good balance of fruits, veggies, proteins, fats and starches at every meal in order to get all the nutrition you need. Don't waste food--there are starving children in the world. No "treats" until your plate is clean. You will sit at the table until you are done. And on. And on. Ad nauseam!!! Does this sound healthy to you?

What exactly is accomplished by all this programming? The result is a whole society of people who have forgotten how to hear what their bodies are telling them about what they need and instead rely on the thoughts they acquired from well-meaning but misled authority figures.

What if we were to consciously become aware of what our bodies were trying to tell us once again? We might hear them say, "I'm full now" after only a few bites. We might hear them say, "I would like some salad today," or, "drinking that Coke would make me feel tired and bloated," or "I need to stay away from fried foods today." The point is, most of us would probably eat much differently. We would probably look and feel much differently as well. We would age better and not get sick as often. We would have more energy.

Take a few minutes to sit back, feel yourself inside your heart, and ask serious questions about what you eat. Tell your body you are ready to listen to its advice and begin eating what it tells you. Your body will thank you by serving you with a clear head and much greater energy.

There is wisdom in your body if you take the time to listen to what it says!!!

Humor As Medicine

Although not everyone agrees on what makes something funny, the vast majority of us value humor in one form or another. Humor can be used as a way to escape monotony or boredom. Humor can be a way to break the tension in a stressful situation. However, in a real energetic sense, humor can be used to cure what ails us.

From a physical and scientific standpoint, humor produces many positive physical changes in the body. According to The Mayo Clinic, humor has a number of short term and long term effects on the human body. In the short term, laughter helps your body take in more air, which stimulates your body's organs and produces those feel-good endorphins. The long term effects of laughter include things like helping your body produce neuropeptides (which decrease stress and boost the immune system), relieving pain, and improving overall mood.

Besides the positive physical effects of laughter though, one should also consider the spiritual/energetic aspects of humor. Stressful situations, like illness, divorce or death, can often bring on stagnant or blocked energy. Take a moment to look back at some of the more stressful situations in your life. Remember the energy of those situations--usually either slowed way down or blocked. Now remember the times in your life when you were able to have a good heartfelt laugh. How do those occasions feel different from one another? Have you ever been in a really stressful situation and all of a sudden someone did or said something funny that made you laugh?

Laughter really does loosen up stressful situations and make the energy lighten up and move on much more quickly. This is why I post my little midday "funnies" at lunchtime. It's my way of reminding you to take a few minutes to focus on something that will help your energy move in more positive directions!!!

Find a way to bring humor into your life every day, and the mountains you come up against will feel much more movable and a lot smaller than you previously thought. The power is yours!!! Allow humor to be part of your stay healthy routine every day!!!

Laughter Is Good For the Soul!!!

It's clear out the clutter Monday, so a little cleaning humor is in order!!!
Don't forget to SMILE!!!

Clear The Clutter!!!

Spring cleaning. It is a ritual performed by many in the modern world. Gives us a chance to deep clean our homes--clear the cobwebs, wash out the dusty cupboards, get rid of trash we hang onto in the belief we will need it again sometime. It's a chore none of us relish, but we do it because we know how it will feel when we're done. Clean. Fresh. Renewed.

Our homes should be our sanctuaries, but in the chaos of our lives we often don't take the time to weed out those things that are no longer of use to us. I'm as guilty as everyone else on this score (probably worse than most as I do have some horrible packrat tendencies).

The funny thing is, when I do take the time to weed things out, I feel so much better afterwards!!! Cleansed. Refreshed. Surprisingly, free!!!

The thing most people don't realize about clutter is, when you have too much stuff in your life, it's hard to receive anything new. You just don't have room for it!!! This is true for homes, and schedules, and even thoughts. You reduce the blessings that want to come to you when you stubbornly cling to old things that have overstayed their welcome.

As we go along in this process of connecting to our hearts and empowering ourselves to create better lives, I will give periodic reminders to Clear the Clutter from our lives. That way, we have the ability to stop and think and rid ourselves of all that is unnecessary so we can receive new blessings!!!

May your blessings be abundant as you create new space for them!!!

Giftedness

I spent many years working with young children as a preschool teacher. While there are things I loved about it, the job was not always easy and I had to learn a lot to be good at it. The whole process changed my life in substantial ways--especially the way I view the world.

One of the most important ideas I learned in the process of teaching small children is that we all have different styles of learning. Some children learn best through using their vision. Some kids remember what they hear. Others absorb information by performing the process in a physical action. (I usually call them hands-on learners.) The kids who typically do best in school are the ones who pick up most of their information through visual or auditory means. This is because words and pictures are most often used in school to convey thoughts and ideas. Children who learn things through "doing" have a more difficult time because their brains just don't process the visual or auditory well. Although most of us do not learn exclusively through one sense, we are prone to use one most often.

As adults, we continue to learn through these same processes we used as children. People who learn best through visual means typically focus on the visual. Auditory people focus on sound. Hands on people focus on doing and feeling. It's simple to assess once you know what to look for.

I believe these patterns also transfer to spiritual learning and awakening. I know several friends who can see spiritual entities. Some see angels and demons. Others see orbs or other objects. I have auditory friends who sometimes hear voices or even heavenly music. Still other friends are in tune with their "gut" feelings and can accurately predict things by feeling them.

My personal spiritual information comes several ways. While I cannot see spiritual things with my physical eyes (like some of my friends can), I do occasionally see visions in my mind's eye, especially when I ask specific questions. I am a singer so I have pretty decent auditory memory. There are occasions when I can sing beautiful harmonies that I can actually hear coming from elsewhere. My best skill though, is my ability to feel what other people are feeling. I know exactly when others are happy or upset with me and why. I can feel the tension or ease in relationships. I also occasionally get really strong "gut" reactions that I know I need to pay attention to because the outcome could be dire if not acted upon.

As part of your spiritual awakening, it is important to look at your own particular brand of giftedness. Lamenting the fact you can't see spiritual entities with your physical eyes will not help you use the spiritual senses you do have. By looking at the subtle information you receive, you can learn to pay better attention to the spiritual information that comes to you.

Look back at your life and remember the times you received information from your spiritual senses that you either acted on or did not. What was the outcome? Have you used these experiences to help you gain better access to the spiritual side of things? If not, don't you think it's time you began paying attention?

Your life can be much better and easier in profound ways when you learn to focus on the gifts and talents you do have! Make it a point to assess your giftedness today, and turn an ordinary life into an extraordinary one!!!

The Importance Of Connecting To Heart

I am once again drawn to the profound truths which can be found in movies. James Cameron's Avatar is one of those brilliant pieces that not only introduces universal themes but also speaks intimately to the soul. One of those themes centers on the idea we are all connected. The cool thing about Avatar is that it displays this connection on both a physical and a psychic level!

On the physical level, the tails of the Na'vi humanoids connected with animals to form a much more complete and telepathic link which enabled them to function as one entity.

They also made the same physical connection to the Tree of Souls, which was the physical representation of God on their planet, referred to as Eywa. Once connected directly to Eywa, the Na'vi were able to access all information contained within.

What I find so fascinating about the whole concept is this: Cameron shows how the Na'vi connect at a heart/soul level by giving the visual image of actual physical connection. To me, he is telling us we are all connected at some level. What becomes important in this connection process is the intent to connect in the first place. Once you allow yourself to connect, the actual connection becomes simple.

Our world is currently a world of separation. We are taught to identify ourselves by gender, by politics, by religion, by race, by culture, by sexual orientation, etc. We allow our differences to come between us, and most days we don't think twice about doing it. It is what we know.

For me, James Cameron takes us to a "fictional" place in order to for us to see how intimately we are connected. He makes us understand we are all the same underneath and that we can choose to connect and function as ONE entity!!!

As humans, our very real connection is the heart. The more we get quiet and listen to the guidance it imparts, the more we allow ourselves to take down the barriers that separate and enter a whole new world where everyone is able to work for the greater good!!!

Your heart is your connection to the One!!! Choose to connect today!!!

Overcoming The Energy Of Attack

Recently, I've had the interesting opportunity to explore the energy of being attacked. This was not a physical attack, but in very real ways it has made my body react through the great energy exerted mentally, emotionally and spiritually.

The source of the attack is actually an old, dear friend of mine. He came to mind several months ago, and I wondered if I could find him through social media. When someone I knew in the past comes to mind after such a long time, I believe it is important to follow up on it. Such mental images and messages are signs from Source that we need to tune in. Anyway, I looked and found him easily enough.

Without going into a lot of detail, suffice it to say he did not agree with a post I made. The conversation began well enough as he asked what I proposed as an alternative and I gave him one solution I see. From there, he began to go slightly off topic to a point we have debated some in the past. As the conversation continued, he resorted to actual name-calling.

Now you may be asking why I put up with such nonsense. The bottom line is, I believe there is something to learn from this situation. Running away from problems only results in them coming back at a later time.

As I use my intuition to feel into the situation, several things become apparent. My friend is angry and in pain, which is why he lashes out. Some experience in his past has hurt him to the point where he feels the need to protect himself and others by fighting against that which hurt him. My friend is not truly lashing out at the person I am. He is lashing out at my belief because it is similar to something that hurt him in the past.

The energy of attack is based on underlying pain and anger that comes out when a person is reminded of an experience that caused them past heartache. People provoked to attack do so as a way to overcome that pain so they can maintain some sort of power or control over their lives.

This is why the energy of the heart is so important. It says, "I am here for you. I support you. I love you. How can I help you sooth your pain and replace it with love?"

I am by no means perfect, but I am living my life in such a way I am learning to overcome energies that attack by using the power of the heart. As healers of the planet, this is our calling.

Do what you can to reflect on those attacks that come your way. You can literally change the course of the planet by counteracting attack through the power of heart.

The Value of BEing

I have a part time retail job at a shopping mall close to my home. It's a strange job for someone as empathic as I am (crowds often bother me as I can read everyones' feelings when they are nearby), but I honestly enjoy getting out of the house and meeting people. The thing is, reading people as I do and being aware of them can be a surprising thing.

A few days ago, I was working and I noticed a girl about 10 or 12 in a wheelchair. I'm not sure exactly what her challenge was, but I could tell it was severe as her arms and legs were drawn up close to her body and she had an extremely difficult time moving herself in any way.

My soul's reaction to her made my body want to cry...but I didn't want to cry for the reasons you're probably thinking. I didn't feel sorry for her, nor did I feel sorry for her parents. I could feel the spirit contained within her body, and it was so big and powerful and beautiful I was overwhelmed by its sheer magnificence!!!  I instinctively knew she was here in this form to help her parents learn something they needed to learn. This girl is not a burden. She is a gift, and her parents are blessed to have her in their lives!!! This girl is contributing to the world every day, just by her BEing!!!

As far as I'm concerned, the society I live in has an extremely warped value system. Our value is based largely on what we do--especially in relation to job and earning power. Manual labor is regarded as lowly work (even though it is highly necessary) and doesn't pay well while more skilled and/or "intellectual" labor is much more highly thought of. If you don't work (even if you are willing to), you are pretty much worthless. While disabled people who cannot work are tolerated, many in our society see them as having very little value or consequence.

If they could see what I see, they would understand the error of their ways!!! We all come here to contribute in some way--even if that contribution comes in the form of BEing and allowing everything to be done for you!!! Many such BEings contribute much more than the rest of us!!!

It is time to begin looking to the heart of each one. This is where our true BEing lies. This is our place of connection. This is our place of power. We all have value just by BEing. Isn't it time we acknowledged it?

Laughter Is Good For the Soul!!!

Some things just come full circle!!! Don't forget to SMILE!!!

I See You!!!

One can often find profound truths within movies. One of my ultimate favorite movie truths is contained in the James Cameron movie "Avatar". In it, the native people of the planet Pandora, the Na'vi, have a profound regard for all life. Everything is included in this reverence, including people, animals and plants. Killing anything includes a profound sense of loss and a desire to give thanks for its sacrifice. The natives themselves have a way of looking at each other that seems to go to the very core of who that being actually is. They use the term, "I see you", to indicate they see not only the physical person standing before them but also the spiritual soul contained therein.

In our world, we usually only look to the superficial. Often we judge someone's character based on outside appearance--things like age and weight and clothing. This is the experience our five senses provide for us. The question becomes, is that all there is?

The vast majority of us know there is much more to a person than physical appearance. Many of us are even willing to explore what lies inside by taking the time to get to know someone. Sometimes what we discover surprises us.

Still, the "I see you" used in the Avatar movie is much more profound than just taking some time to getting to know someone. The Avatar "I see you" actually involves not only understanding another person from an intellectual, five sense level. It speaks to finding the heart and soul of the living being. The Avatar "I see you" goes to the level of seeing with the heart.

When you see something with the heart, you sense the energy of that person. You feel the feelings, sense the intent that goes along with that physical being. You feel the heart of the other and what courses through it. In a very real way, you are reading the other's energy signature--the frequency.

Try sitting in comfortable silence for a few minutes with someone you are close to. Ask yourself what they are feeling. Try to get a picture of what motivates them and what desires are in their heart. Allow the thoughts and feelings to sink in and to honor that person.

You too may be able to look at someone and see into the depths of their soul! It is a profound and life changing experience.

Know that I honor who you are in the world!

I see you!!!
