The Revolution Is Here (And It Is Not What You Think)!!!

Lately, I have been obsessing over my DVD copy of "Mockingjay, Part 1", part of the Hunger Games trilogy by Suzanne Collins. Under normal circumstances, I can watch a movie once (or twice if it's really good) then I won't want to watch it again for a long while. This time it's different, so I have to ask myself the question, "Why is it different this time?" I realize this is a message from spirit. There is something here I need to pay attention to.

The overall theme of the books/movies is slavery. In a post-apocalyptic United States, the people who have survived are subjected to harsh living conditions in order to give the ruling class, who live in a place known as the Capitol, a high standard of living. Because of a former rebellion, these slaves are also forced to give up two of their children every year to be slaughtered in a winner-takes-all televised killfest designed to be entertainment for the Capitol and a reminder of who is in charge for the slaves, known to all as the Hunger Games.

However, my current obsession runs to only the most recently released movie in the saga, "Mockingjay, Part 1". Why? As I sit and ponder the question, answers come.

This particular part of the story deals with civil war and revolution, which has been energized by the actions of the story's main character, Katniss Everdeen. This revolution contains the usual death and violence that has so characterized human uprisings in the past.

Here in the United States, I don't see the same fighting, violence or destruction of what we call revolution (although the media would display violent incidents in an attempt to make us think we are fighting other races or religions or sexual orientations). Still, what hits me (and why I believe I am obsessing) is the fact that my country and even my world are in the throes of a revolution. The difference is, the revolution is more one of thought.

Most of us in this world are not physical slaves or captives. However, we are mentally enslaved. We are enslaved by thoughts, by rules, by taboos, by judgments. Our chains consist of technology and jobs and mortgages and bank accounts and taxes. These things are so ingrained in us we no longer question the rightness of any of it--at least not with our heads.

Our hearts understand there is so much more. Our hearts are tapped into the unlimited place of Oneness. Where the brain sees limitations, the heart feels expansion. Where the brain sees confinement, the heart feels freedom. The heart understands possibility and knows there is much more to life than what has been presented.

The heart also understands violence is not required for positive change. One only needs to begin consciously asking the heart for answers and following the guidance it gives.

The time has come to stop fighting. The time has come to understand that we are much better together than separate. The time has come to heal our planet by making the choices that will benefit us all.

The revolution is here!!! It is the revolution of the heart!!!
Join me?!!!
