Lately, it seems as though I am in the direct path of the hurricane. On the macro level, false flag events, political agendas, and economic collapse seemed poised for action. On the micro level, trying to help my family work through personal issues and crises seems to have become the norm. At all levels I never know quite what to expect next. The people, events and situations all change suddenly leaving me reeling in the gale as it passes.
My meditation time this morning was a reminder to stop and make sure my own needs are being met. With all the stresses floating freely in the atmosphere these days, it makes sense to make the time to stay grounded and centered. Otherwise, you will be much more battered around by the storm than necessary. The storms of life are meant to test us and strengthen us. They can also break us if we don't take the time to anchor ourselves in.
Find a few minutes to take a break from the hurricane around you. Sit back in a comfortable chair. Close your eyes. Take calm, deep breaths in and out. As you exhale, allow the stresses in your world be expelled, As you inhale, feel yourself breathing in all the hope and promise the world has to offer. Envision yourself using your gifts and talents in ways that will not only make you happy but will help others be happy as well.
Remember that the storm is here to sweep out everything that does not serve us. While it is not a comfortable process, it is a necessary one. Sometimes the only way something good and strong can be built is by first tearing down the old, unstable structure.
I'll leave you with a quote from Richard Bach:

The mark of your ignorance is the depth of your belief in injustice and tragedy. What the caterpillar calls the end of the world, the Master calls the butterfly.~CSE
