There's a guy in one of my favorite Facebook groups that likes to use the word "hopium" when referring to the mindless masses who become intoxicated on hope. The people he's referring to are not the sheeple sort who go with whatever the mainstream media is encouraging that day. He's talking about the ones who believe they are awake and aware. These are the people who are avid inhalers of alternative news--particularly the reports that say something big is right around the corner.
There are many different alternative news sources that supply this "hopium". Junkies flock to reports from people like Drake, Cobra, Neil Keenan, Benjamin Fulford, and Zap to get their weekly or monthly fix. The thing is, while it sounds like progress is being made, it always leaves you wanting more. You end up living one high to the next without ever having something substantial to hold in your hand.
I don't want to make it sound as though the people who provide such news are doing nothing, nor do I wish to leave the impression the people they report about are doing nothing. They may well be making significant progress.
The part of the equation I don't like is the fact that We the People are so invested in what others are doing to save the planet we are overlooking the most significant players who can change the world: ourselves. We are looking outside ourselves for a savior, and all the while the savior is within!
The world doesn't need hopium. It needs people who are so connected to their hearts they are BEing who they need to be to transform this planet! We need dreamers, artists, scientists, healers, teachers, and farmers. We need people who can see the world in its perfect form and find ways to take it there.
When we rely on "hopium", we fail to BE who we are in the world. Time to detox from the madness and play the roles we were born to play.
