Here in the United States, our lives are often very busy. Work. School. Appointments. Social functions. Extracurricular activities for the kids. Sometimes it seems our lives are so busy doing everything that is expected of us, we forget who we are. Taking at least a little time to be creative every day will help you avoid ruts and keep your energy free-flowing and expanding.
The key is focusing on activities you enjoy doing. Ironically, you don't even have to be good at them! Taking action is enough. You might enjoy music. Listening is good, but humming or even singing along is better. Physical action has a way of loosening up both your physical and spiritual bodies. Playing an instrument or dancing to the music would work as well!!!
Maybe you enjoy art. Buy some inexpensive watercolor paints at the store. Mold some modeling clay. Lace colorful beads into jewelry you would like to wear. Even the simple act of coloring in a coloring book can help mind and body de-stress (and you can do this with your child for added impact)!!!
Plan a garden and then get outside and work the plan! Build a model car, or rebuild a real one. Put together some favorite ingredients to make up a new recipe. Make a batch of cookies for your child's class at school or to treat coworkers. Organize your closet and work to mix and match clothing elements to come up with new outfits. Knit or crochet a new hat or baby blanket. The possibilities are truly endless.
Even the most simple activity can help a stagnant mind expand in new ways. It's all about relaxing and letting your spirit express what is inside. Stress melts away when you are engaged in creative endeavors.
Allow yourself to express your creative side every day. Your life will blossom in amazing ways that may just lead to something even bigger!!!
