The Power To Change The World

It can be extremely difficult living with someone diagnosed with mental illness. On good days, things may be relatively calm and peaceful, but on bad days all hell breaks loose as accumulated problems explode onto the surface. Yesterday was one of those explosion sorts of days.

Even though I have done tons of research and have my own personal experiences overcoming depression, sometimes what you know that could help someone else goes unheard. There is a great deal of truth in the old expression, "You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him drink."

When it's a family member who is suffering, it is all the more painful. You want so much to take the pain away and make it better, but you can't. People have to want to change and be willing to put the effort into it themselves. Otherwise, any change that takes place will probably not take root and will die out eventually.

As wrong as this seems, sometimes the only thing you can do to help someone else is to allow them to fall. That's right. I said it. We have to be willing to let them fall. It gets hard when people have to fall a long ways down before they are willing to pick themselves back up, but that's the way the process works! Falling and picking yourself back up is all part of that learning and growing process. Mistakes are good things when you use the insight they bring to help you make better decisions in the future.

Ultimately, the only thing we have the power to change in this world is ourselves, but don't underestimate that power! Each one of us carries a presence--an energy/frequency--that has an effect on everything we come into contact with. If your energy carries calm and peace, that is the energy you will create in the world. If your energy is violent, violence will follow you. If you carry unconditional love, that presence will be spread to all those around you and rebound back to you.

It is through changing our frequencies we are able to change the frequencies of others. It is not what we do, nor is it what we teach them or show them. The power to change the world lies in your BEing. Use your intention to change your frequency to one of love and peace and you will find your world will blossom into a much kinder, gentler place.

BE the change you wish to see in the world!!!
